The River Owenabue (Irish : Abhainn na Baoi), [1] also spelled "Owenboy", is a river in County Cork, Ireland.
River Owenabue rises just north of Crossbarry and flows east towards the sea for roughly 20 miles (32 km). It flows through Crossbarry and on to the small village of Halfway. It then reaches Ballinhassig where it widens into Ballygarvan. It then meanders through Ballea Woods into Carrigaline, and onto Crosshaven where it enters Cork Harbour near Curraghbinny. The area is known as the Owenabue Valley. Otters and herons are seen on the river, and the heron has become a symbol of the area.[ citation needed ] 10 bridges cross the river.
The Royal Munster Yacht Club (now merged with the Royal Cork Yacht Club) was based on the Owenabue River.[ citation needed ]
Dromineer is a small village and townland in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is situated on the shores of Lough Derg on the River Shannon. The village is located 10 km north of Nenagh on the R495 road. It is a civil parish in the historical barony of Ormond Lower. Historic documents describe the places as "Dromynnyre"; the earliest form of the name dating from 1302 was Dromynwyr.
Crosshaven is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It is located in lower Cork Harbour at the mouth of the River Owenabue, across from Currabinny Wood. Originally a fishing village, from the 19th century, the economy of the area became more reliant on a growing tourism industry.

The River Corrib in the west of Ireland flows from Lough Corrib through Galway to Galway Bay. It rises in the Shehy Mountains on the western border of County Cork and flows eastwards through Cork, where it splits in two for a short distance, creating an island on which Cork's city centre is built, then passing through Cork Harbour on the south coast, one of the largest natural harbours in the world, to empty into the Celtic Sea. The Avoca is a river in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is contained completely within the county. Its length is 35 miles (56.3 km).
The River Feale rises near Rockchapel in the Mullaghareirk Mountains of County Cork in the southwest of Ireland and flows northwestwards for 75 kilometres through Abbeyfeale in County Limerick and Listowel in County Kerry before finally emptying into Cashen Bay, a wide estuary north of Ballyduff. Then it flows out through the Shannon's estuary and joins with the Atlantic Ocean with a flow rate of 34.6 m2/s. The river, along with its tributaries, combine to add to over 160 km of waterways. For the final 10 km stretch it is known as the Cashen River. The river contains a large salmon and sea trout population.
Innishannon or Inishannon is a large village on the main Cork–Bandon road (N71) in County Cork, Ireland. Situated on the River Bandon, the village has grown due to its proximity to Cork city, and is now a dormitory town for city workers.
Ballinadee is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It lies in the parish of Courceys, approximately 12 km by road west of Kinsale and 9 km south east of Bandon. Ballinadee is on the banks of the River Pound, which flows into the River Bandon, and has a school, two churches and two pubs.
The Blackwater or Munster Blackwater is a river which flows through counties Kerry, Cork and Waterford in Ireland. It rises in the Mullaghareirk Mountains in County Kerry and then flows in an easterly direction across County Cork through the towns of Mallow and Fermoy. It then enters County Waterford where it flows through Lismore, before abruptly turning south at Cappoquin and finally draining into the Celtic Sea at Youghal Harbour in Cork. In total, the Blackwater is 169 km (105 mi) long.
Glenbrook is a village in the townland of Lackaroe, between Passage West and Monkstown in County Cork, Ireland. Monkstown, Glenbrook and Passage West are three villages along Cork Harbour's R610 route. The Cross River Ferry at Glenbrook links the Owenabue Valley with East Cork, Fota Island and Cobh.

Crossbarry is a small village on the R589 regional road in Innishannon parish, County Cork, Ireland. It is about 20 km southwest of the city of Cork. The River Owenabue flows through the village. The West Cork Railway once ran through the village, and Junction railway station served as a connection to Kinsale, just to the east. The Crossbarry ambush took place at the village during the Irish War of Independence.
Garranewaterig, sometimes known as Gurranes or Gurrane, is a townland in the civil parish of Knockavilly in County Cork, Ireland. It lies to the north of Innishannon and Crossbarry, and is close to the main road to Killumney, Ovens, and Ballincollig.
Cloone River is a river in County Leitrim in Ireland. Its course is almost entirely within the boundaries of the Civil parish of Cloone. The river runs from the tripoint of the townlands Aghalough, Sunnaghconner, and Corraneary in an overall south-southwesterly direction before it passes through Lough Errew and from there into Lough Rinn.
