Wheelchair tennis is one of the forms of tennis adapted for wheelchair users. The size of the court, net height and rackets are the same, but there are two major differences from pedestrian tennis: athletes use specially designed wheelchairs, and the ball may bounce up to two times, where the second bounce may also occur outside the court.
Dylan Martin Alcott, is an Australian former wheelchair tennis player, former wheelchair basketball player, radio host, actor, foundation founder, business owner and motivational speaker. Alcott was a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team, known colloquially as the Australian "Rollers". At the age of 17, he became the youngest Rollers gold medal winner, at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and was the youngest to compete in the wheelchair basketball competition. In 2014, he returned to wheelchair tennis with the aim of participating at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, at which he won gold medals in the Men's Quad Singles and Doubles. He was named the 2016 Australian Paralympian of the Year due to his outstanding achievements at Rio.
The Canadian Paralympic Committee is the private, non-profit organization representing Canadian Paralympic athletes in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Parapan American Games. It represents 25 member sports organisations.
The 2015 Parapan American Games, officially the V Parapan American Games and commonly known as the Toronto 2015 ParaPan-Am Games, were a major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, celebrated in the tradition of the Parapan American Games as governed by the Americas Paralympic Committee, held from August 7 to 15, 2015, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Marking the first Parapan American games hosted by Canada, and the second major Paralympic sports event hosted by Toronto since the 1976 Summer Paralympics, the Games were held at venues in Toronto and four other Golden Horseshoe communities. Both the Parapan American and Pan American Games were organized by the Toronto 2015 Organizing Committee (TO2015).
Rebecca Marie Murray is an American wheelchair basketball player and member of the United States women's national wheelchair basketball team. She is a three-time Parapan American Games gold medalist in 2007, 2011 and 2023. In 2010, she won two more gold medals at IWBF World Championship and at U25 World Championship in 2011.
Heath Arthur Davidson, is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. Davidson is a four-time Australian Open doubles champion, all partnering Dylan Alcott. He has also won two Paralympic medals, a gold and silver in doubles at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, respectively. He has been selected for the 2024 Paris Paralympics, his third Games.

The 2023 Parapan American Games, officially the VII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Santiago 2023 Parapan-Am Games, were an international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities. It celebrated the tradition of the Parapan American Games as governed by the Americas Paralympic Committee and was held from November 17 to 26 in Santiago, Chile.
Sarah Hunter is a retired Canadian Paralympian in wheelchair tennis. At the Paralympics, she competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics and 2008 Summer Paralympics but did not medal. Outside of the Paralympics, Hunter won the quads division at the 2003 and 2004 Wheelchair Tennis Masters alongside Peter Norfolk.

Wheelchair tennis at the 2019 Parapan American Games took place from 24 to 30 August at the Club Lawn Tennis de La Exposcicion in Lima. The men's and women's singles champions qualified directly for the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Argentina competed in the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru. This was the country's largest delegation to the Parapan American Games in its history. In total athletes representing Argentina won 17 gold medals, 28 silver medals, 37 bronze medals and finished 5th in the medal table.

Johana Martínez Vega is a Colombian wheelchair tennis player. She is a three-time silver medalist at the Parapan American Games in the women's doubles events in 2011, 2015 and 2019. She often collaborates with compatriot Angélica Bernal in women's doubles events. She is the first ever South American female wheelchair tennis player to have competed at the Paralympics.
Mitsuteru Moroishi is a Japanese wheelchair tennis player. He represented Japan at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in quad singles and quad doubles and at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in quad singles and quad doubles. His doubles partner both years was Shota Kawano. At the 2020 Summer Paralympics, he and Koji Sugeno won bronze medals for Japan in the quad doubles event. Moroishi also finished 9th in the quad singles event. He was born in Konan and resides in Kakamigahara.
Canada is scheduled to compete in the 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile from 17 November to 26 November 2023. The country was represented by 136 competitors in 14 sports at the 2023 games.
