Roberto Sabatini

Roberto Sabatini is an aerospace researcher and academic specializing in avionics, spaceflight and robotics/autonomous systems. [1] [2] [3] [4] He is a full professor at Khalifa University in the United Arab Emirates, [5] and an honorary professor at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.[ citation needed ]

He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia [6] and the Royal Aeronautical Society, [7] and is editor of a number of journals in the field. [8] [9]

He has received several awards, such as the Arch T. Colwell Merit Award - Society of Automotive Engineering (2015), [10] Scientist of the Year - Australian Defense Industry Awards (2019). [11] [12] and Distinguished Leadership Award from Aviation/Aerospace Australia in 2021. [13]

Amanda Susan Barnard is an Australian theoretical physicist working in predicting the real world behavior of nanoparticles using analytical models and supercomputer simulations and applied machine learning. Barnard is a pioneer in the thermodynamic cartography of nanomaterials, creating nanoscale phase diagrams relevant to different environmental conditions, and relating these to structure/property maps. Her current research involves developing and applying statistical methods and machine/deep learning in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and materials and molecular informatics. In 2014 she became the first person in the southern hemisphere, and the first woman, to win the Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology, which she won for her work on diamond nanoparticles.

Ulfila Mark J. Lewis is a senior American aerospace and defense executive with special expertise in hypersonics. He is currently the Executive Director of the National Defense Industrial Association's Emerging Technologies Institute, following his role in the second half of 2020 as the acting US Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, and before that the Director of Defense Research and Engineering for Modernization. He was the Chief Scientist of the U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. from 2004 to 2008 and was the longest-serving Chief Scientist in Air Force history. He served as chief scientific adviser to the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Air Force, and provided assessments on a wide range of scientific and technical issues affecting the Air Force mission. In this role he identified and analyzed technical issues and brought them to attention of Air Force leaders, and interacted with other Air Staff principals, operational commanders, combatant commands, acquisition, and science & technology communities to address cross-organizational technical issues and solutions. His primary areas of focus included energy, sustainment, long-range strike technologies, advanced propulsion systems, and workforce development.

Dr Ahmed K. Elmagarmid is a computer scientist, academic and executive. He is the founding executive director of Qatar Computing Research Institute, a national research institute under Hamad bin Khalifa University, a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Since his appointment in 2010, Elmagarmid has focused on large-scale computing challenges that address national priorities for growth and development of Qatar. The computer research community, especially the database research recognizes the important role he has played at international level by creating data-centric research institution like QCRI and building it into an internationally reputed research institute.

Among his other notable inventions include a solar-powered water heater,, the discovery of the physical law of electrical kinetic resistance called the Zara effect,, and a propeller-cutting machine, among others.
