Robin S Ngangom (born 1959) is an Indian poet and translator from Manipur, North Eastern India. [1]
==Biography== Robin Singh Ngangom was born in Imphal, Manipur of North Eastern India. [2] He is a bilingual poet who writes in English and Meiteilon. He studied literature at St Edmund's College and the North Eastern Hill University Shillong, where he teaches. His books of poetry include Words and the Silence (1988) published by Writers Workshop, Time's Crossroads (1994) and The Desire of Roots (2006). His essay, Poetry in a Time of Terror appeared in The Other Side Of Terror: An Anthology Of Writings On Terrorism In South Asia published by Oxford University Press, New Delhi (2009). He was conferred with the Katha Award for Translation in 1999. [3]

Jayanta Mahapatra is an Indian English poet. He is the first Indian poet to win a Sahitya Akademi award for English poetry. He was awarded a Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour in India in 2009. He returned the award in 2015 to protest against rising intolerance in India.
Indian English literature (IEL), also referred to as Indian Writing in English (IWE), is the body of work by writers in India who write in the English language and whose native or co-native language could be one of the numerous languages of India. Its early history began with the works of Henry Louis Vivian Derozio and Michael Madhusudan Dutt followed by Rabindranath Tagore and Sri Aurobindo. R. K. Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand and Raja Rao contributed to the growth and popularity of Indian English fiction in the 1930s. It is also associated, in some cases, with the works of members of the Indian diaspora who subsequently compose works in English.

Vilborg Dagbjartsdóttir is an Icelandic poet. She published her first book of poetry in 1960 and became one of the few women in Iceland to write modernist poetry. Her third book of poems, Kyndilmessa, has been described as a "breakthrough". Innovative features in her works include the use of colloquial language and images of daily life. Like Jón úr Vör she combined lyrical realism with romantic imagery. Vilborg has been active in the feminist movement, and her works are concerned with the status of women in society as well as social inequality in general. She has published a number of books for children, including non-fiction works and translations.
Sitakant Mahapatra is an eminent Indian poet and literary critic in Odia as well as English. He was in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) since 1961 until retiring in 1995, and has held ex officio posts such as the Chairman of National Book Trust, New Delhi since then.
Literature from North East India refers to literature of in the languages of North East India and the body of work by English-language writers from this region. North-East India is an under-represented region in many ways. The troubled political climate, the beautiful landscape and the confluence of various ethnic groups perhaps have given rise to a body of writing that is completely different from Indian English Literature. North-East India was a colonial construct and continues to be one by virtue of having a historically difficult relationship with the Indian nation state.

He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award, in 1984 for his poetry collection, The Keeper of the Dead, by the Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters.
