Survivor is a reality-competition television franchise produced in many countries around the world. The show features a group of contestants deliberately marooned in an isolated location, where they must provide basic survival necessities for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants until only one remains to be awarded the grand prize and named the "Sole Survivor".

Sandra Diaz-Twine is an American television personality who became known for her appearances on the reality game show Survivor. She won the first two seasons she appeared on, Survivor: Pearl Islands and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, making her the show's first two-time winner. She returned for Survivor's 34th season, Survivor: Game Changers, where she was the 6th person voted out. Along with fellow Survivor contestant Rob Mariano, she was a non-competing mentor on the show's 39th season Survivor: Island of the Idols, and subsequently competed on the show's 40th season, Survivor: Winners at War, where she was the 7th person voted out and only player to leave the game at the Edge of Extinction. Diaz-Twine is regarded among fans as one of the greatest players on the show. She also competed for a 5th time on the Blood V Water edition of the Australian Version of Survivor with her daughter Nina, which premiered in Australia on January 31, 2022.

The main twist this season is that after a contestant is voted out, they are sent to L'île de l'Exil where they will face against other eliminated contestants for a chance to return to the game. This is the first season in which contestants who are eliminated in circumstances that do not involve being voted off are not replaced by the last eliminated contestant. The season premiered on 16 March 2018 and concluded on 25 May 2018 where Clémence Castel was crowned as the Sole Survivor in a close 5-4 jury vote against Pascal Salviani becoming the first two-time winner of Koh-Lanta.

The season was filmed in the Philippines between August and October 2018, and aired on Reshet 13 on March 9, 2019 until July 13, 2019, when former footballer Đovani Roso was named the Sole Survivor over previous Survivor winner Naama Kasry and plus-sized model Simcha Gueta during the live finale; Kasry was named the audience's favourite player after winning a public vote.

This season begins with twenty contestants being split into two tribes, competing against each other to try and win 500,000 SEK Like last season, this season was filmed in Kadavu Group, in Fiji. The season premiered on 17 March 2019 on TV4. Like last season, the season was presented by Anders Öfvergård. The season concluded on 26 May 2019 where Klas Beyer won against Fia Grönborg in a challenge to claim the title and become this year's Robinson.
