The Rocket Mortgage Classic is a professional golf tournament in Michigan on the PGA Tour at Detroit Golf Club It debuted in 2019, replacing the Quicken Loans National on the PGA Tour schedule, [1] and is the first PGA Tour event to be held completely within the Detroit city limits. [2]
For the 2019 season, the event was part of the Open Qualifying Series, giving two non-exempt players entry into The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.

The Dana Open, is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour. It was founded 40 years ago in 1984 and has been played yearly, except in 1986 and 2011, in Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb northwest of Toledo. The tournament is televised by Golf Channel.

The Detroit Golf Club is a private golf club located in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan in the middle of a neighborhood area on north side of the city near the University of Detroit Mercy and Palmer Woods Historic District. Bert Way designed the original 6-hole course. It was expanded to 9 holes, and finally Donald Ross built the current 36-hole course. The club grounds crew maintains two courses, the North and the South Course. The head pro is Josh Upson. Beyond the tournament, the Ally Challenge event includes a pro-am on Wednesday and Thursday, The Ally Challenge Community Concert on Friday and Adidas 5K Challenge run/walk event on Saturday morning.
