A resident of Kitchener, Ontario, Raffin played for Canada at the 1976, 1984, and 1988 Summer Olympics. He was a member of the 1980 team as well which had qualified for the tournament but did not participate due to the Canadian Olympic Committee's decision to boycott the Moscow games.
In the early 80's Raffin taught physical education, as well as some other courses at Woodman Jr. High in Calgary.
Raffin became basketball coach at Central Memorial High School in Calgary in 1989 and the school's athletic director in 1994. He was inducted as a player into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996.
Donovan Bailey is a retired Jamaican-Canadian sprinter. He once held the world record for the 100 metres. He recorded a time of 9.84 seconds to become Olympic champion in 1996. He was the first Canadian to legally break the 10-second barrier in the 100 m. Particularly noted for his top speed, Bailey ran 12.10 m/s in his 1996 Olympic title run, the fastest ever recorded by a human at the time. He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 as an individual athlete and in 2008 as part of the 1996 Summer Olympics 4x100 relay team. In 2005, he was also inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame.
The Western Mustangs are the athletic teams that represent Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. The school's athletic program supports 46 varsity teams. Their mascot is a Mustang named J.W. and the school colours are purple and white. The university's varsity teams compete in the Ontario University Athletics conference and the national U Sports organization. Western University offers 21 varsity sports for men and 19 for women which compete in the OUA conference. Bluevale Collegiate Institute is a secondary school in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, run by the Waterloo Region District School Board. As of the 2019–2020 school year, Bluevale has an enrollment of 1,240 students. The school opened in 1972 under the direction of principal Robert Chilton, and vice-principal Charlie Wilson, initially with grades 9 through 11, adding grades 12, and then 13 in subsequent years. Cherie Piper is a Canadian former ice hockey player residing in Markham, Ontario. She was a member of the Canadian national women's hockey team and played for the Brampton Thunder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). Piper has won three Olympic gold medals with the Canadian national team in 2002, 2006 and 2010, as well as one world championship title in 2004.

Greg Francis was a Canadian Olympic basketball player and coach. He was the director of Sport Development with Ontario Basketball, and also served as the manager of Men's High-Performance at Canada Basketball, as well as holding head coach roles with the UOIT Ridgebacks, University of Waterloo Warriors men's basketball team, and the head coach of the University of Alberta Golden Bears, where he replaced coach Don Horwood, who had manned the Bears bench for 26 seasons. Francis was also the head coach of the Canadian junior men’s national team, assistant coach of the Canadian senior men's national team, and the Canadian men's basketball national coach.
Gregory Hilko Wiltjer is a Canadian former professional basketball player, Olympian, NJCAA All-American and CIAU All-Canadian. He was drafted 43rd overall in the 1984 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. He spent 12 seasons playing professionally in Europe where he won the FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup with FC Barcelona (1985–86); and two Greek League Championships and two Greek Cups with Aris Thessaloniki.

Melvin Obinna Ejim is a Nigerian-Canadian professional basketball player for Unicaja of the Liga ACB. He played college basketball for Iowa State University before playing professionally in Italy, Russia and Spain, as well as the NBA G League.
Shannon-Ogbnai Abeda is an Eritrean-Canadian alpine skier and Ski Cross athlete. Abeda competed for Eritrea at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the alpine skiing events. Abeda became the first athlete to compete for Eritrea at the Winter Olympics. He finished 61st in the giant slalom event in 2018, did not finish the first run of the slalom event and finished 39th at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Abeda's parents fled the Eritrean War of Independence in the 1980s and emigrated to Canada. Abeda also represented the country at the inaugural Winter Youth Olympics in 2012 in Innsbruck, Austria. Abeda originally announced his intentions to take the 2018/2019 season off and attend university after the 2018 Winter Olympic Games however announced his retirement and change to bobsleigh. He hinted that he would return for the 2022 Winter Olympics games, but also at the possibility of retirement. In 2021, his FIS status indicated that he competed in two races in April 2021 confirming his return to Alpine and in September 2021, he officially came out of retirement and announced his intentions to qualify for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. On December 21, 2021, Abeda qualified for the 2022 Winter Olympics; shortly after his event, he announced his retirement from Alpine skiing. However, as of 2023, his FIS license is active, and he has stated on his social media that he would return for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
James Russell is Canadian basketball player, Olympian and a surgeon. His accomplishments include being the youngest starter for the Canadian men's national basketball team, performing well for Canada in multiple international tournaments, and being named the Canadian university ("CIAU") MVP in 1976. After his basketball career, Russell distinguished himself in the field of general surgery.
Howard Kelsey is a former Canadian basketball player and two-time Olympian. He is one of only four athletes to be named to the Canada men's national basketball team immediately out of high school. Over the course of 11 years (1977–88), Kelsey represented Canada in many tournaments in over 400 total games, including two Olympics ; three FIBA World Championships; and two FISU World University Games, where Canada won gold in 1983.
