Ronald Marshall "Ron" Merriott (born May 24, 1960) is an American former diver who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics. [1] He was born in Rockford, Illinois. [1] In 1984, Merriott won the NCAA championship in 3-meter springboard diving. His score of 600.3 is the highest of any of the University of Michigan's national champion 3-meter divers. [2]
Mary Teresa Slaney is an American retired middle-distance and long-distance runner. During her career, she won gold medals in the 1500 meters and 3000 meters at the 1983 World Championships and was the world-record holder in the mile, 5000 meters and 10,000 meters. In total, she set 17 official and unofficial world records, and she was the first woman to break 4:20 for the mile. She also set 36 U.S. national records at distances ranging from 800 meters to 10,000 meters, and has held the U.S. record in the 2000 meters and 3000 meters since the early 1980s, while her 1500 meters record stood for 32 years and her mile record stood for 38 years. In 2003, she was inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame.

Ronald John Freeman III is an American former athlete. At the 1968 Summer Olympics, Freeman won a gold medal in the 4×400 m relay and a bronze medal in the 400 meters. Freeman ran the second leg on the American 4×400 m relay team, which won the gold medal with a new world record of 2.56.16. His relay leg time (43.2s) was the fastest 4x400 meter relay leg ever run and his time stood for more than 25 years.

Piersma competed in the B Finals of the men's 200-meter freestyle and men's 400-meter freestyle. In the 200-meter freestyle, he finished twelfth overall with a time 1:49.90; he placed ninth overall in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 3:50.69.
Herb Barten is an American former middle distance runner who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics, where he placed fourth with a time of 1:50.1 in the 800 meter. Barten was the AAU 800 meter champion in 1948 and placed second the following year. Barten attended the University of Michigan from 1946 to 1949, where he claimed five individual Big Ten titles. In 2007, he was inducted into the Michigan Men's Track and Field hall of fame. As of 2016, Barten resides in Clemson, South Carolina where he "enjoys watching the youngsters compete [in the Olympics] every four years."
