Rovers is a British comedy television series that aired on Sky One. The first and only series began on 24 May 2016 and ended on 28 June 2016.
The series was first announced on 14 December 2015. The exterior stadium shots were filmed at Church Lane, the home venue of New Mills A.F.C. in New Mills, Derbyshire.
The series revolves around a football club in the Midlands of England and the social lives of its local members. The entire series takes place at the club, which has been run by Doreen for 25 years. The locals include Pete "Mete Pott" Mott, the club's most fanatic member, Pete's best friend Tel and his boyfriend Mel, Willy and his blind mother Francis, troublesome twosome Lee and Bruce and local woman Mandy.
While there is no opening credits sequence, each episode begins with an instrumental rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" or The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army".

Desmond's is a British television situation comedy broadcast by Channel 4 from 5 January 1989 to 19 December 1994. The Attractive Young Rabbi was a BBC Radio 4 comedy series of three series from 1999 to 2002, written by Barry Grossman. Starring Tracy-Ann Oberman, David de Keyser and Doreen Mantle, the series was about two rabbis in "Hillfield", in north west London. Ellie Mills is a fictional character from the British soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Sarah Baxendale. The character made her first on-screen appearance on 15 February 2002. Ellie is part of the show's Hunter family. She had been referenced on-screen numerous times as her family were searching for her after she goes missing in Ibiza. She later arrives in Chester which shocks her family. Ellie is characterised as a confident and independent female but has selfish tendencies. Ellie's stories have revolved around her relationships, especially with Toby Mills, who she later marries. Writers portrayed Toby as a serial killer who goes on a prolonged murder spree in the community. Writers embroiled Ellie into his crimes and she choses not to report him to the police. Ellie later fears for her safety and flees to Liverpool. The scenes formed part of a late-night spin-off episode titled Hollyoaks: Leap of Faith, which featured Toby's death. Ellie was featured in one of the show's biggest stunts when she and Toby fall from a one-hundred foot building. Ellie survives and later allows her brother, Dan Hunter to take the blame for the murders. Ellie's lies are soon discovered and she is arrested and put on trial for covering up Toby's murders.
Natalie Horrocks is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street, played by Denise Welch. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 26 February 1997. She departed the series on 31 December 2000.
Marianne Stone was an English character actress. She performed in films from the early 1940s to the late 1980s, typically playing working class parts such as barmaids, secretaries and landladies. Doreen Sheila Elsie Keogh was an Irish actress of radio, stage, television and film, who was known for roles in numerous television serials and telefilms, but especially as Concepta Riley, the first barmaid at the Rovers Return Inn in the soap opera Coronation Street. Concepta, introduced as an original character in 1960, remained until 1964, with guest returns to the soap in 1967, 1972 and 1975.
