Roy Botham (born 19 April 1923) is a British former swimmer. He competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics and the 1952 Summer Olympics. [1]

Canada competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico. 139 competitors, 111 men and 28 women, took part in 124 events in 14 sports. It is the inaugural Summer Olympics where the Canadian team marched under the new Maple Leaf flag. The youngest competitor for Canada was gymnast Theresa McDonnell who was 14 years old. The oldest competitor was equestrian Zoltan Sztehlo who was 46 years old.

Roy Edward Williams was a Canadian basketball player who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics. He was born in Winnipeg. Williams was part of the Canadian basketball team, which was eliminated after the group stage in the 1952 tournament. He played all six matches. He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of fame in 2009.

The Racecourse

The Racecourse is part of Durham University's sports facilities. It contains squash, tennis and fives courts, cricket, rugby, hockey and football pitches and rowing houses. It is located along the River Wear and has been used as a sports ground since at least 1733.

The Refugee Olympic Team competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016, as independent Olympic participants. In March 2016, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach declared that the IOC would choose five to ten refugees to compete at the Rio Olympics, in the context of the "worldwide refugee crisis", of which the European migrant crisis is a prominent part. The athletes competed under the Olympic Flag. Initially, they were labeled "Team of Refugee Olympic Athletes", with the IOC country code ROA, but this was updated to Refugee Olympic Team with the country code ROT.
