Rudrankksh Patil (born 16 December 2003) is an Indian sport shooter. He won medals at the Shooting World Cup. [2] [3] In December 2022, he ranked first in 10m air rifle [4] in ISSF rankings.

Early life

Patil was born in Thane, Maharashtra. His learnt his basics from coach Ajit Patil. His father, Balasaheb Patil and mother, Hemangini Patil, encouraged him to take up shooting. Initially, he started with chess and football but shifted to shooting.

Career

At the 2022 Asian Games at Hangzhou, Patil scored a world record score on way to winning India's first gold medal [5] on 25 September 2023. He secured a Paris 2024 Olympic quota berth, after winning gold in the 10m air rifle event at the 2022 ISSF World Shooting Championships [6] [7] at Cairo, the new administrative capital, on 14 October 2022. [8] Earlier in the 2022 Asian Championships in Daegu, he bagged first place in the Men’s 10m air rifle team event. [5] He is preparing for the Paris Olympics under coach Neha Chavan at Gun for Glory Academy in Pune. [9] Gagan Narang, co-founder of the Academy and vice-president of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) helped him get a sponsored gun from Walther company, Germany, which was presented to him at a press conference in Pune. Saurabh Chaudhary is an Indian sport shooter. He won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in 10 m Air Pistol. He was the youngest Indian gold medalist at the Asian Games. He had earlier won gold medals and set a new junior world record in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. He is the only Indian shooter to win a gold medal in ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games and Asian Air Gun Championship. He broke his own world record with a score of 245.5 and claimed gold in Junior Men 10m Air Pistol at 2018 World Championship in Changwon, Korea.

She was also conferred the Arjun Award for 2023 but missed the event on 9 January 2024 due to the Asian qualifier.

Varun Tomar is an Indian sport shooter. He bagged an Olympic quota berth for the Paris Olympics in the 10m Air Pistol event by winning a gold medal at the Asian Olympic Qualifiers on 8 January 2024 at Jakarta.

Raiza Dhillon is an Indian sport shooter. She qualified for an Olympic quota berth for the Paris Olympics in the women's skeet event by winning a gold medal at the Asian shotgun championships, an Asian Olympic Qualifier on 20 January 2024 at Kuwait city. She became the first Indian woman to potentially qualify for an Olympic skeet event. It also brought the Indian Olympic quota count to 19. The quota berth won by a shooter is a berth for the country and the Federation, which can nominate any shooter for Olympics, as per set criteria.

Tilottama Sen is an Indian sport shooter from Bengaluru. She bagged an Olympic quota berth for the Paris Olympics in the women's 10m air rifle event by winning silver medal at the Asian Shooting Championship at Changwon in South Korea, which is an Asian Olympic Qualifier event in October 2023. She is the youngest Indian to book a berth for the Olympics, and if selected to play the quadrennial games, she would be the third youngest Indian at Olympics in Paris.
