Himachal Pradesh is a state in the northern part of India. Situated in the Western Himalayas, it is one of the thirteen mountain states and is characterised by an extreme landscape featuring several peaks and extensive river systems. Himachal Pradesh is the northernmost state of India and shares borders with the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to the north, and the states of Punjab to the west, Haryana to the southwest, Uttarakhand to the southeast and a very narrow border with Uttar Pradesh to the south. The state also shares an international border to the east with the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. Himachal Pradesh is also known as Dev Bhoomi or Dev Bhumi, meaning 'Land of Gods' and Veer Bhoomi which means 'Land of the Brave'.
The Western Pahari languages are a group of Northern Indo-Aryan languages spoken in Northern India, primarily in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division, parts of Pakistan-administered Kashmir and the Punjab region.

Pavithra is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language drama film written, produced and directed by K. Subash under his home banner, Dhanooja Films. The film stars Radhika, Nassar, Ajith Kumar and Keerthana. The Tākri script is an abugida writing system of the Brahmic family of scripts. It is derived from the Sharada script formerly employed for Kashmiri. It is the sister script of Laṇḍā scripts. It has another variant Dogra Takri employed in Jammu region. There are numerous varieties present throughout Himachal Pradesh. Until the late 1940s, the adapted version of the script was the official script for writing Dogri in the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. Throughout the history, different kingdoms of what now forms Himachal Pradesh used their own variety to maintain their records. The Takri script used in Sirmour in Himachal Pradesh and in the adjacent region of Jaunsar-Bawar in Uttarakhand has some distinction.
Mohit Chauhan is an Indian playback singer, known for his work in Hindi films. He was a part of the Silk Route band. Chauhan has received two Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer and three Zee Cine Award For Best Male Playback Singer awards. He has recorded several songs for films and albums many different languages, and is one of the most prominent Indipop singers.
Barot, a village originally developed in the 1920s for Shanan Hydel Project, is now a tourist location in Mandi district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Barot was difficult to access until 1975, when a road was opened. It is situated 40 km from Jogindernagar and 65 km from Mandi, the district headquarter. The road to Barot branches off at Jogindernagar-Mandi Highway and from Jogindernagar the distance is 40 km. It is sometimes possible to use the funicular trolley from Jogindernagar which reduces the distance to 12 km. The road route includes terraced fields and thick cedar forests, rising to Jhatingri at the hilltop. The remains of the summer palace of the former rulers of Mandi are located here. Through the small village of Tikkan, the road carries on to Barot. The town has a range of outdoor activities, including a trout breeding centre, from where fish are released into the Uhl river. A 30 km section of the river is used for angling.
Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, is a premier museum of North India having collections of Gandharan sculptures, sculptures from ancient and medieval India, Pahari and Rajasthani miniature paintings. It owes its existence to the partition of India in August, 1947. Prior to the partition, much of the collections of art objects, paintings and sculptures present here were housed in the Central Museum, Lahore, the then capital of Punjab. The museum has one of the largest collection of Gandharan artefacts in the world.
Khel – No Ordinary Game is a 2003 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Yusuf Khan. The film stars Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty and Celina Jaitly and Ajay Jadeja. Former Indian cricketer Jadeja made his Bollywood debut with this film. It was released on 3 October 2003.
Asif Basra was an Indian actor who worked in Bollywood films and TV serials. He is best known to Western audiences for his role in Outsourced. He also appeared in many other films. Basra died of suicide by hanging in 2020.
Roy is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by debutant Vikramjit Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar and Ajay Kapoor under Freeway Pictures. The movie features Ranbir Kapoor in the title role with Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles. Shernaz Patel, Rajit Kapur and Shibani Dandekar appears in supporting roles. Anupam Kher appears in a cameo. The film is based on a filmmaker writing and directing movies about thefts and robberies. The movie had its premiere in Dubai on 12 February 2015 and was released worldwide on 13 February 2015 to negative reviews for the film’s story, screenplay, direction & slow narration, but praised the performances, cinematography, locations, soundtrack, & the film’s dramatic score.
Dogri Cinema or Western Pahari Cinema or Pahariwood refers to cinema in Western Pahari languages especially Dogri language, which is included in the Schedule VIII of the Constitution, spoken primarily in the Jammu Division region of Jammu and Kashmir state and Himachal Pradesh of India.
Sanju is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language biographical comedy-drama film directed and edited by Rajkumar Hirani, written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi and produced by Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the banners Rajkumar Hirani Films and Vinod Chopra Films. The film chronicles the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, notably focusing his drug addiction, arrest for his association with the 1993 Bombay bombings, relationship with his father, and acting career. Ranbir Kapoor stars as the title character, along with an ensemble supporting cast.
Adventures of Omanakkuttan is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film directed by Rohith V. S. in his directorial debut. The story was conceived by Sameer Abdul and he wrote the screenplay along with the director. It stars Asif Ali, Bhavana, Aju Varghese and Saiju Kurup. It was produced by Antony Binoy and Biju Pulickal under the banner 4M Entertainments and features music composed by Arun Muraleedharan and Dawn Vincent.
Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh, Piyaji is an Indian Hindi-language romantic drama television series that premiered on 3 April 2017 on Star Plus. The series is also digitally available on Disney+Hotstar. Produced under the banner of Shashi Sumeet Productions, it is the sequel to Diya Aur Baati Hum. The series starred Rhea Sharma and Avinesh Rekhi. It ended on 1 June 2018.
Naam is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written, directed and produced by debutant Joshy Thomas Pallickal. It tells the story of a group of youngsters.

Himachali cap is a distinctive headdress associated with Himachal Pradesh's culture. It is a part of the traditional dress of many Pahari inhabitants.
Aditi Gautam, also credited as Seiya Gautam, is an Indian model turned actress known for her work in Telugu and Hindi language films. Aditi made her Telugu cinema debut with the 2008 film Neninthe and her Bollywood debut with the 2018 film Sanju.
