The women's Laser Radial is a sailing event is the women's one-person dinghy event, being held in Marseille, France, from 1 to 6 August 2024. 43 sailors from 43 nations will compete in 11 races, including one medal-race with the top 10 ranked contestant for double points were. Due to low winds, race 10 was cancelled. [1]
After the final regular race, Dutch contestant Marit Bouwmeester held a 21 point lead. With a maximum of 18 points difference to be scored during the medal race this ensured her of her 2nd gold medal in the Laser Radial after 2016 and her fourth consecutive medal in Olympic Laster Radial contests. Similarly Danish contestant Anne-Marie Rindom held a 20 point lead over third place ensuring a silver medal and her 3rd consecutive medal in Olympic Laser Radial.

Sailing competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 25 July to 4 August 2021 at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor in Enoshima. The venue was also used for the 1964 Olympic Games although significantly regenerated, the IOC now encouraging regeneration, cost reductions and sustainability. The RS:X, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, 470, 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra17 are all returning for 2020; there are no significant changes to the Olympic programme from 2016.

The Mixed 470 was a sailing event part of the Sailing at the 2024 Summer Olympics program in Marseille and took place between 2–7 August 2024. The event was the first for the Mixed 470 class for double-handed dinghies in the Olympics, replacing the separate men's and women's classes that had previously existed. All crews for the Mixed event must contain one male and one female sailor. A total of 19 crews representing 19 nations entered in to the event scheduled for 10 preliminary races and one medal race.
