History
Saint Bernard's Parish and Saint Bernard's grade school were both founded in 1891. At that time, the school was run by three Benedictine sisters, and students would sit on the kneelers in the church and use the pews as desks. At its peak, Saint Bernard's grade school was the largest catholic grade school west of Chicago. The original school building was built shortly after the school's founding, and in 1905 the current church building was built. In 1957, demand for a secondary school was answered with the addition of a high school. In 1959 the former high school building, adjacent to the original school building (both of which are still standing), used by the grade school until 2009, as well as the church, was constructed.
Unfortunately, due to the economic recession and a decline in the number of students, the grade school was closed after the 2008-2009 school year.
Throughout the halls of the high school, class pictures from most graduating classes from the high school's founding to the current day hang above lockers and doorways. There are also several old pictures hanging in the conference room, as well as the school entrance.
On Thursday, February 18, 2010, it was announced that Saint Bernard's High School would close its doors at the end of that school year. [1] Despite a strong campaign to raise enough money, which did succeed in raising pledges, the Pastor determined it would be better for the parish to allow a charter school to move into the space.

Catholic Central School was a private, centrally located pre-K-12 regional Catholic school in Latham, New York, within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. It was formed in 2022 with the merger of Saint Ambrose elementary school in Latham with Catholic Central High School in Troy, New York. The new school is located on the grounds of the former Saint Ambrose School. The school's Troy property was put up for sale in March 2022, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2024.

St. Mary's Catholic Church, also known as St. Mary of the Visitation Church, is a parish church of the Diocese of Davenport which is located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. The church building and rectory were listed together on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. They were both included as contributing properties in the Jefferson Street Historic District in 2004. The parish's first rectory, which is now a private home, is also listed on the National Register as St. Mary's Rectory. It is located a few blocks to the east of the present church location at 610 E. Józef Franciszek Darzyn Ciemiński was a Polish-born Roman Catholic priest. He emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1881 and was ordained as a Priest in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1895. He was involved with numerous Polish Catholic parishes during his lifetime including the now closed troubled Parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Duluth, Minnesota, and the parish of Holy Cross in Minneapolis.

It was founded in 1923 by Archbishop Austin Dowling and was closed in 1971, being replaced by Saint John Vianney Seminary. The campus is now the site of the University of Northwestern – St. Paul.
