Salym Petroleum Development, established in 1996, (Salym Petroleum Development, Salym Petroleum, SPD) is a joint venture between Gazprom Neft and Shell plc for development of the Salym group of oil fields in West Siberia. It is a joint-stock company incorporated under Dutch law ( Naamloze vennootschap ).

History

Since 2003, Salym Petroleum Development (SPD) has been involved in the integrated development of three oil fields: West Salym, Upper Salym, and Vadelyp. They are located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, 120 kilometres (75 mi) southwest of Surgut and 30 kilometres (19 mi) of Salym, respectively. The total recoverable oil reserves were at one point estimated to be 140 million tons, and the total area of licenses is about 2,141.4 kilometres (1,330.6 mi). In the summer of 2006 SPD exceeded an annual production volume 1 million tons, and In 2014 the company produced about 6.55 million tons of oil. [1]


Activities

A liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plant was commissioned in May 2012 for associated petroleum gas processing. The project was implemented by a partner company, Monolit LLC (Rose of the World group). It currently receives petroleum gas from the Salym fields and the Shapsha group of fields, RussNeft holding the license for development of the latter. [2] Currently, Salym Petroleum Development is working on enhanced oil recovery technology.

Gazprom Neft, is the third largest oil producer in Russia and ranked third according to refining throughput. It is a subsidiary of Gazprom, which owns about 96% of its shares. The company is registered and headquartered in St. Petersburg after central offices were relocated from Moscow in 2011.

Karachaganak Field is a gas condensate field about 23 kilometres (14 mi) east of Aksay (Ақсай) in northwest Kazakhstan. It was once a massive Permian and Carboniferous reef complex covering an area 30 by 15 square kilometres. At its largest point, the reservoir contains a gas column 1,450 metres (4,760 ft) deep with a 200 metres (660 ft) deep oil rim below it. It is estimated to contain 1.2 trillion cubic metres of gas and one billion tonnes of liquid condensate and crude oil. Discovered in 1979, it began production under Karachaganakgazprom, a subsidiary of Gazprom. In 1992, AGIP and British Gas were awarded sole negotiating rights, forming a partnership company. In 1997, Texaco and Lukoil signed a 40-year production sharing agreement with the original two companies and the Kazakhstan government to develop the field for world markets. The agreement was turned under a partnership company known as Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) where Royal Dutch Shell and ENI are joint operators with a 29.25% stake each in the company, and with Chevron and Lukoil owning 18% and 13.5% respectively. In September 2009 the KPO filed an arbitration case against Kazakhstan. The Republic of Kazakhstan appointed Maksat Idenov to lead the negotiations, after which the arbitration was suspended towards an amicable settlement of the dispute and KazMunayGas engaged in entrance into the project in 2010. Under the terms of an agreement reached on December 14, 2011, the Republic of Kazakhstan has acquired through KazMunayGas a 10% stake for $2 billion cash and $1 billion non-cash consideration.

The Kazakhstan–China oil pipeline is China's first direct oil import pipeline allowing oil import from Central Asia. It runs from Kazakhstan's Caspian shore to Xinjiang in China. The pipeline is owned by the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the Kazakh oil company KazMunayGas.

Naftna Industrija Srbije is a Serbian multinational oil and gas company with headquarters in NIS building, Novi Sad, Serbia. NIS is one of the most profitable companies in Serbia and one of the largest domestic exporters. It employs around 11,000 people in Serbia and the region. As of May 2022, Gazprom Neft is the largest shareholder with 50% of NIS shares, followed by 29.87% owned by the Government of Serbia, 5% owned by Gazprom and rest by minority shareholders.

The South Pars(Persian )/North Dome field is a natural-gas condensate field located in the Persian Gulf. It is by far the world's largest natural gas field, with ownership of the field shared between Iran and Qatar. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the field holds an estimated 1,800 trillion cubic feet of in-situ natural gas and some 50 billion barrels of natural gas condensates. On the list of natural gas fields it has almost as much recoverable reserves as all the other fields combined. It has significant geostrategic influence.

Yamal project, also referred to as Yamal megaproject, is a long-term plan to exploit and bring to the markets the vast natural gas reserves in the Yamal Peninsula, Russia. Administratively, the project is located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The project is developed by Gazprom.

The Vankor Field is an oil and gas field in Russia, located 130 kilometres (81 mi) west of Igarka in the Turukhansk District of Krasnoyarsk Krai in Eastern Siberia, close to the border with Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Its estimated reserves are 520 million metric tons of oil and 95 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Production was launched in August, 2009. The field is operated by Russian national oil company Rosneft through its subsidiary Vankorneft.

The Pallas gas field is an offshore natural gas field located on the continental shelf of Ukraine in the north-eastern part of the Black Sea. It covers area of 162 square kilometres (63 sq mi). The estimated 157 billion cubic meters of natural gas in place. Recoverable reserves are estimated 75 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 490 million metric tons of oil.

Chayanda field is a large hydrocarbon resource field, primarily of natural gas and gas condensates. It is located in the Lensky District of the Sakha Republic in Yakutiya.
