Sam Lewis is an American designer of board games and former line developer of the Renegade Legion line in FASA Corporation. He was also president of FASA for a time.

Background

He holds an MBA in economics from Northwestern University, which he obtained in 1983.[ citation needed ]

In 1983, he was credited as the designers of Mayfair Games' Dragonriders of Pern licensed game after a novel by Anne McCaffrey.[ citation needed ]

After Jordan Weisman founded the company which would become Virtual World Entertainment, Sam Lewis became president of FASA. [1] :122 By 1994, Renegade Legion had been dropped from production, and when Paul Lidberg - president of Crunchy Frog Enterprises - sought a full Battletech license from FASA, Lewis convinced Lidberg to license Renegade Legion instead. [1] :125

For FASA, he created the individual combat game Battletroops in their Battletech game universe, and is credited for the adaption thereof under the name DMZ in the Shadowrun universe.[ citation needed ] Apart from that, he was responsible for the RL game line and their setting until FASA ended the line in 1995 and licensed the game world to Crunchy Frog Enterprises.[ citation needed ]

Afterwards, he did lead GameStorm, a service of Kesmai Corporation. Other works since then include production work for EA.com and design work for Sony Online Entertainment's Star Wars lines. He has also worked for Cartoon Network as lead game designer on the game FusionFall. Currently he is a senior game designer for ZeniMax Media [ citation needed ]

Classic BattleTech is a table-top wargame set in the fictional BattleTech universe that simulates combat between futuristic mechanized forces. Originally published by FASA Corporation, the game is now produced by Catalyst Game Labs under license from WizKids. The term "Classic" is used to differentiate the original game from variants and related games that have derived from it, such as MechWarrior: Dark Age. The game has an extensive range of 1/285 scale miniatures.

The Robotech Defenders are a line of scale model kits released by Revell during the early 1980s with an accompanying limited comic series published by DC Comics. Robert N. Charrette is an American graphic artist, game designer, sculptor and author. Charrette has authored more than a dozen novels. His gaming materials have received many Origins Awards. Charrette was inducted in the Origins Hall of Fame in 2003. His work is known for a clean, realistic style that invokes themes from Feudal Japan and Chanbara films and in particular, historical and fantastic representations of Samurai culture. His early work in game design and miniature sculpting set the tone for depictions of Japanese mythology in American fantasy and science fiction.
