Players

A player is eligible to represent Samoa if they have a Samoan parent or grandparent. [5] In 2021 Samoa held trials in Auckland, New Zealand to identify players from the diaspora who could represent it. [6] It also identified potential players in the United States and Europe. [7] In 2022 the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in Samoa-based players being excluded in favour of diaspora players. [8]
