The Samoa national badminton team (Samoan : Au badminton a Samoa) represents Samoa in international badminton team competitions and is controlled by the Samoa Badminton Association located in Apia. [1] It is associated with Badminton Oceania. The Samoan team once won bronze in the 2007 South Pacific Games mixed team event. [2]
Badminton was first played in Samoa in the 1950s when expatriates from the London Missionary Society serving at the Apia Protestant Church started playing the sport. The country began organizing badminton competitions in 1987 to spread the popularity of the sport around the country. [3]
The Samoan mixed team competed in the mixed team event at the 2003 South Pacific Games. [4] The team lost to New Caledonia, Fiji and Wallis and Futuna but beat Nauru 5−0 to finish in 4th place. [5] In 2007, the team won their first international team medal when the team finished in 3rd place for bronze in the 2007 South Pacific Games mixed team event. [6] In 2019, the team competed in the 2019 Oceania Mixed Team Championships and finished in 7th place. [7] [8] In that same year, the team competed in the 2019 Pacific Games as the home team and finished in 6th place. [9] [10]

Tuvalu participates in the Pacific Games which is a multi-sport event with participation exclusively from countries in Oceania. Known as the South Pacific Games prior to 2009, the games are currently held every four years.
Victoria "Vicky" Na is an Australian badminton player. She is of Indonesian and Thai descent. She has won an Australian age national championship and participated in several international badminton competitions. Na made her Australian national badminton team debut in 2011 and was a member of the Australian 2012 Summer Olympics badminton team.
Leanne Choo is a badminton player from Australia. She is the reigning Oceania Champion in women's and mixed doubles. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics, alongside former women's doubles partner, Renuga Veeran. Choo also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Setyana Daniella Florensia Mapasa is an Indonesian-born Australian badminton player. Mapasa won a silver medal at the 2013 BWF World Junior Championships mixed team when she represented Indonesia. She officially became an Australian citizen in 2014. She was selected to join the national team compete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. She was four times women's doubles Oceania champions from 2017 to 2020 with her partner Gronya Somerville, also two times champion in the mixed doubles event in 2017 and 2018 alongside Sawan Serasinghe.
The XIV 2019 Oceania Badminton Championships was the continental badminton championships in Oceania sanctioned by the Badminton Oceania, and Badminton World Federation. This championship was organized by Badminton Victoria, and was the 14th edition of the Oceania Badminton Championships. It was held in Melbourne, Australia from 11 to 14 February 2019. The individual event started on 11 February, while the team event started on 15 February.
Badminton at the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa was held on 8–13 July 2019. The tournament included men's, women's and mixed events, and was played at the Faleata Sports Complex in Tuanaimato. The Northern Marianas badminton team competed at the Pacific Games for the first time in this 2019 tournament.
The Belgium national badminton team represents Belgium in international badminton team competitions and is controlled by the Royal Belgian Badminton Federation. The Belgium national team have never qualified for the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. The last time Belgium competed in the Sudirman Cup was in 2007.
The Myanmar national badminton team represents Myanmar in international badminton team competitions. The best result for both men and women's team was a third place finish at the 1979 and 1995 Southeast Asian Games. The men's team was selected to take part in the 1976 Thomas Cup but failed to qualify into the first round.
The Romania national badminton team represents Romania in international badminton team competitions. The Romanian national team have never participated in the Sudirman Cup, Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. Romania participated in the 2006 European Men's Team Badminton Championships and were eliminated in the group stages.
The Zambia national badminton team represents Zambia in international badminton team competitions. The team is controlled by the Zambia Badminton Association.
The Barbados national badminton team represents Barbados in international badminton team competitions. The national team is managed by the Barbados Badminton Association in Bridgetown. Barbados have never medaled at the Pan American Badminton Championships. The Barbadian mixed team started participating in the Commonwealth Games mixed team event since 2010.
The Tonga national badminton team represents Tonga in international badminton team competitions. The Tongan team debuted in the Oceania Badminton Championships mixed team event in 2016. The team finished in 5th place. The Tongan junior team debuted in the Oceania Junior Badminton Championships in 2015 and finished in 5th place.
The Zimbabwe national badminton team represents Zimbabwe in international team competitions and is controlled by the Zimbabwe Badminton Association, the governing body for Zimbabwean badminton. It is affiliated with the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA).
The Tunisia national badminton team represents Tunisia in international team competitions. The Tunisian national team is managed by the Tunisian Badminton Federation. The men's team debuted in the African Badminton Championships in 2018.
The Wallis and Futuna national badminton team represents Wallis and Futuna, an Overseas collectivity of France, in international badminton team competitions. It became an associate member of Badminton Oceania in August 2021. The team made its international debut at the 2022 Pacific Mini Games in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, in June 2022.
The Northern Mariana Islands national badminton team represents Northern Mariana Islands, an unincorporated territory and commonwealth of the United States, in international badminton team competitions. The Northern Mariana Islands national team is controlled by the Northern Marianas Badminton Association in Saipan.
The Cambodia national badminton team represents Cambodia in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Cambodia Badminton Federation. Cambodia have never competed in any BWF organized team tournaments.
The Venezuela national badminton team represents Venezuela in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Venezuelan Badminton Association, the governing body for Venezuelan badminton.
The Kiribati national badminton team represents Kiribati in international badminton team competitions and is organized by the Kiribati Badminton Federation, the governing body for badminton in Kiribati. The Gilbertese team competed in the Pacific Games.
The Nauru national badminton team represents Nauru in international badminton team competitions. It is administered by the Nauru Badminton Association, the governing body for badminton in Nauru. The Nauruan team first competed in the 2014 Oceania Badminton Championships mixed team event.
