San Carlos or San Carlos de Tenerife is a Sector in the city of Santo Domingo in the Distrito Nacional of the Dominican Republic. This old neighborhood is populated in particular by individuals from the lower middle class.

The village of San Carlos de Tenerife was founded in 1684 by Canary Islanders. [1]

San Carlos is home to Club San Carlos of the Torneo Superior de Baloncesto. [2]

He then moved to the United States, where he played at Artesia High School in Lakewood, California before going back to the Dominican Republic. Throughout his 20-year professional career, Filion has played in the Dominican Republic, France, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela; in 2007 he was named the LIDOBA Finals MVP. A long-time member of the Dominican national team, he won the silver medal at the 2003 Pan American Games and the gold medal at the 2004 Centrobasket.

Jaime Peterson is a Dominican-American former professional basketball player. A 2.06 m forward-center, he was born in New York City to Dominican parents. After playing for three different high schools, including a postgraduate year at Maine Central Institute, Peterson played two seasons in the junior college circuit with Champlain College in Vermont before playing in the NCAA Division I with the Pittsburgh Panthers. He went undrafted in the 1995 NBA draft, and he started his professional career in France. In 2003 he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Liga Española de Baloncesto, the second tier of Spanish basketball. He played for the Dominican Republic national team from 1995 to 2005, and he won the silver medal at the 1995 and 2003 editions of Centrobasket.

Carlos Done is an American/Ukrainian professional basketball player for Al-Karamah SC of the Syrian Basketball League. After playing collegiate basketball for ASA College and Harford Community College, Done was signed professionally for Club San Carlos in 2019 to compete in the Torneo Superior de Baloncesto, later signing for Laguneros de La Comarca in 2019 as the youngest imported player at the time for the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, after that Carlos Done spent two seasons playing for an ex euroleague club BC Budivelnyk Kyiv in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague where in 2021 he became Ukrainian Cup winner in 2021.
