Boro,also called Bodo,is an ethnolinguistic group native to the state of Assam in India. They are a part of the greater Bodo-Kachari family of ethnolinguistic groups and are spread across northeastern India. They are concentrated mainly in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam,though Boros inhabit all other districts of Assam and Meghalaya.
The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) is an autonomous division in Assam,India,and a proposed state in Northeast India. It is made up of four districts on the north bank of the Brahmaputra river below the foothills of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh. Hagrama Mohilary is an Indian politician who has served as the first Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council from 2005 to 2020,representing the Deborgaon constituency. He is the chairperson of the Bodoland People's Front and had been the head of Bodoland Territorial Council since its inception in 2003. He won the third General Assembly Elections 2015 and formed his Government for the third time. Mohilary was the chief of the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) before joining the mainstream politics in 2003.

Bineswar Brahma Engineering College is a government college,established in 2008 by Assam Government at Kokrajhar district,Assam. In 2006 Assam Government announced that an engineering college would be set up at Kokrajhar. The college is situated at a village called Chandrapara,which is 5 km from Kokrajhar town. The engineering college is named after the prominent leader of Bodo community and former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Bineswar Brahma. The college is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University,Guwahati,Assam and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institution is a TEQIP- 3 mapped institute. The institution is the headquarter of the Engineering Council of India and CIDC.
Kameshwar Barma is a Padma Shri awarded person. Born on 1 September 1940 in the Kokrajhar district of the north Indian state of Assam,he is reported to have contributed to the development of Bodo language through his writings and activities. He is also involved with different NGOs and the good will activities of different tribal peoples. The government Of India awards him fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri He served at different positions.
Kanakeswar Narzary was an Indian politician and the founder General Secretary of All Bodo Students' Union.
The United People's Party Liberal is a regional party of Assam. The party has its headquarters in Kokrajhar Town. The party has significant support in Bodoland Territorial Region.
Pramod Boro is an Indian politician serving as the president of the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) since 2020 and the 2nd and current Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council since 2020 representing Koklabari. He was the former president of All Bodo Students Union from 2009 to 2020.
Satyendra Nath Brohmo Chaudhury is an Indian former lawyer and politician who served as a member of parliament in the 10th Lok Sabha. He represented Kokrajhar constituency from 1991 to 1996 as an independent politician. Prior to participating in the 1991 Indian general election,he served as member of Janata Party's state committee from 1978 to 1985.
