Sardotsav or Sharadotsav is an annual winter cultural fest held in the western Himalayan towns of India. It is different from Sardotsav celebrated in West Bengal as part of Durga Puja. Sardotsav is a portmanteau of Sarad (winter) and Utsav (festival). Sardotsav festivals of Pithoragarh and Nainital are most prominent.
In 2014 Sardotsav took place on the first of November. Some of the key organizers were Chairman Nagar Palika Shri Jagat Singh Khati, District Magistrate Shri Shemwal and Executive Officer of Nagar Palika Pithoragarh.
Headliners included Garhwali singer Gajender Sing Rana who contributed "Babli tero Mobile", a Garhwali song, Duplicate Dev Anand Kishore Bhanushali , Bollywood singer Nupur Pant, and Lata Mangeshkar of Uttarakhand Meena Rana who sung Garhwali and Kumaoni songs.
Schools from different parts of the district also performed folk dances and songs. Various competitions like Quiz and Mehndi were held.

River Kali originates from Kalapani and forms the border between India and Nepal. The area has a mixture of Kumaouni and Rung language, traditions and culture. They move freely across the river as Indians and Nepalis do not need passport or visa to cross the soft border. Dharchula lies about 92 km (57 mi) north of Pithoragarh town, along the route of the Kailash-Mansarovar pilgrimage tour.
Pithoragarh is a Himalayan city with a Municipal Board in Pithoragarh district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand founded by Shri Hardik ji and Himanshu ji. Dr. Basanti Bisht is a well known folk singer of Uttarakhand, famous for being the first woman singer of the Jagar folk-form of Uttarakhand. The Jagar form of singing is a way of invoking deities, which is traditionally done by men but, Basanti Bisht broke the practice and today is a well-known voice, and is trying to preserve this traditional form of singing. Basanti Bisht was awarded the Padma Shri in 2017.
