Early life

In her first year of college as a communications major, Sassa dropped out to pursue styling as a way to peek into the world of entertainment. After facing struggles, she returned to school and graduated. She then took a call center job so she could afford to buy a secondhand cellphone and start her career as a social media personality. Raised by traditional conservative Filipino parents, Sassa faced the same challenges as many other children grappling with their gender identity in a country that has yet to enact an anti-discrimination law. Sassa Gurl is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and defines herself as a trans woman, using the pronoun "she/her". [1]

Social media

Sassa is a content creator and social media personality known primarily for comedic skits and lip-sync videos. She is active on a variety of social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. She is notably known as the Drag Runner [12] on the show Drag Den. Brand Ambassador

Sassa Gurl became White Castle Whisky's calendar girl for 2022, marking her the first member of the LGBTQIA+ community to be featured in the brand's long-running campaign. [9] [18]

Her first acting project was in "Wish Ko Lang". [19] [20] [21]

She made her acting debut with the film Balota , [13] . [22] [23] [24] She later appeared in The Entitled and in Takeshi's Castle Philippines. [25] [26]

Music

Her single "Panaginip" is a collaboration with Toni Fowler. [7] [27] She also collaborated on the song "Aries Rising" by Aries Night [28] and "POM POM (Take Me High)" by Manila Luzon. [29] [30] [31]

In June 2022, she released the single "Lagot!". [32] Her song "Maria Hiwaga", released in 2023, was co-written by Sassa, Kumareng Harvey, and Silas, with Ken Ponce as the producer. [32]
