Contents

Format

Rainbow Rumble is a trivia-based game show that tests the players' knowledge, strategy, and luck. It is inspired on the "Pot Luck" segment of Manzano's previous variety show It's Your Lucky Day , which the two hosts also hosted, during which players had to answer questions placed inside pots to win prizes. At the jackpot round, the winning contestant must aim to reach the "end of the rainbow" to win a cash prize of ₱1,000,000. [1] [2]

In "Rally to the Top", five players (so-called Rumblers by the show) compete on a 5-tier pyramid-like stage with 15 screens displaying varying cash amounts. Their objective is to be the first to reach the top of the pyramid. During the game, Rumblers answer trivia questions on a rally board containing 50 questions of varying difficulty, randomly placed. The pyramid features tiles that are single-colored, double-colored, and triple-colored, each with different cash amounts.

Rumblers must swipe their sensors to answer a question. Correct answers allow them to move one step closer to the pyramid, while incorrect answers give other Rumblers the chance to steal. Rumblers must wait for Luis' signal to answer and have three seconds to respond. If a Rumbler answers correctly, they must roll the Die Rolling Machine (DRM) to determine the color of the tile they will step on. If the DRM lands on a color not present on that tier, they stay on their current tile. If it lands on a color already occupied by another Rumbler, a "Tile Breaker" round occurs. The Tile Breaker question involves identifying the color of an object mentioned by Luis (e.g., the color of a cloud is white, the color of tomato sauce is red). If a challenged Rumbler correctly answers the Tile Breaker question, they defend their tile and keep their money. If the challenger answers correctly, they take over the tile and the money. Meanwhile, landing on a "Lucky Tile", which is revealed to the audience beforehand and signaled by a siren, gives the Rumbler an advantage, allowing them to move to a tile of the next tier of their choice.

The game continues until a Rumbler reaches the top. To win the round and an additional ₱25,000, they must land on a red, green, or blue tile. If not, they must stay and answer another question correctly, landing on one of the winning colors. At the end of the round, all Rumblers keep the money they banked during the game.

Jackpot Round

In the jackpot round named "Rainbow Reveal," the rally winner rolls six Die Rolling Machines and must land on six unique colors. The order of the colors does not matter, but if the same color appears on two DRMs, they must roll again until they land on another color. Successfully landing on all six unique colors wins the player one million pesos (₱1,000,000).

Starting in Episode 2, the "Rapid Rumble" round was introduced, allowing the Rumbler to add an additional 12 seconds to their clock before the round starts. This is achieved by correctly answering six questions, with two seconds added for each correct answer. The Rumbler has three seconds to answer each question, and only the first submitted answer is accepted.

Homeviewer game promo

Titled "Color of the Game", viewers can win cash prizes by choosing the color of the dice that will land the most times on the Die Rolling Machine (DRM) throughout the episode. To participate, viewers must comment or post with their chosen color and use the episode's official hashtag.

Development and production

The series was first teased on ABS-CBN's social media accounts in late June 2024, with a video asking the viewer a question in Filipino: "Ano ito na makulay, at kapag makarating ka sa dulo, may naghihintay na malaking papremyo?" (What is it that is colorful, and when you get to the end, there is a big prize waiting?). More information about the series was later announced at the beginning of July, when Luis Manzano renewed his contract with ABS-CBN on July 2, 2024. [3] [4] Furthermore, it is mentioned that this is like Pilipinas, Game KNB?.

Broadcast

Rainbow Rumble premiered on July 20, 2024 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5 and replaced What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? and the fifth season of I Can See Your Voice .

Episodes

As of July 21, 2024, Rainbow Rumble had aired two episodes. Currently, the show has given away ₱249,000, including those who were eliminated from Rally to the Top and had banked money. This excludes players who did not step on a tile throughout the elimination round; instead, they received consolation prizes and the amount stolen by the challenger/challenged contestant in Tile Breaker.
