Kuan on One is a Philippine digital talk show created and produced by ABS-CBN Studios. Hosted by Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, it premiered on YouTube and iWantTFC on July 2, 2024. It has been recognized as the first mainstream talk show in the Cebuano language. [1]
Each episode features different celebrity guests who can speak in Cebuano or any other Visayan language such as Waray or Hiligaynon. Both the celebrity guest and Melai primarily communicate in their native language. English and Filipino subtitles are also available for non-Bisaya speakers. [2]
The series was first announced on June 11, 2024, on ABS-CBN's social media pages. [3] [4] A mediacon for the series entitled "Kuan on One with the Media" was held on June 25 along with the release of the series' second trailer and a poster drop. [5] [6] The first season then premiered on July 2, 2024.
Kuan on One was later renewed for a second season, with a media conference for the second season entitled "Kuan on One and One with the Media" held last November 8, 2024, with drag queen Lady Morgana of Drag Race Philippines season 1 as the host. The show had its TV broadcast starting on October 6, 2024, and airs every Sundays on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z, replacing the weekend broadcasts of Goin' Bulilit , while its weekday broadcasts were replaced with the re-runs of the fifth season of Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal (which is also simulcasted on ALLTV), and its Saturday broadcasts were replaced by Kapamilya Action Sabado.
