Sayeem popularly known as Sayeem Rana (born 1 March 1975) is a Bangladeshi singer, composer, music director, poet and professor. His full name is Md. Ziaur Rahman (Sayeem Rana). [1] He won Bangladesh National Film Awards in best music director category for the film Nekabborer Mohaproyan in 2014. [2] and Prothom Alo Best Book Award 1416. Early life

Rana was born on 1 March 1975 at the village of Jugia Dargah Para in Kushtia District of Bangladesh to Abdus Sobhan and Amina Khatun. [1] He graduated in June 1996 and obtained his post-graduate degree in January 1997 in Islamic studies from Dhaka University. [1] In January 2009, he earned his PhD degree on the title Mass Music of Bangladesh: Subject and Tune Variation from the same university in the department of theatre and music. [1]

Career

Rana joined the Department of Film and Media of Stamford University Bangladesh as a part-time lecturer in 2010. [1] In 2015, he joined University of Dhaka as a lecturer at the Department of Music under the Faculty of Arts. [1] In 2015, Rana launched a book titled "Traditional Musical Instruments". [8]

Shironamhin is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in Dhaka in 1996. Following as a rock group emerging from Dhaka's underground music in the late 1990s, they were distinguished for their extended psychedelic and progressive compositions, multi-instrumental experimentation, and philosophical lyrics and became one of the leading band of the Bengali progressive rock genre. In 2008, the band became a member of the Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA).

The independence of Bangladesh was declared on 26 March 1971, at the onset of the Bangladesh Liberation War by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; the following day the declaration was broadcast by Major Ziaur Rahman in a radio broadcast. On 10 April, the Provisional Government of Bangladesh issued a proclamation on the basis of the previous declaration and established an interim constitution for the independence movement.

Deyal is a 2013 political/historical novel by Bangladeshi writer Humayun Ahmed, based on the socio-political crisis in the aftermath of the war of independence of Bangladesh. It was the last novel of the writer and was published one year after his death. The publication of the book was delayed by a High Court verdict.

Abu Zafar Mohammad Saleh, popularly known as the Pir of Sarsina, was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar. He was said to have contributed to the establishment of 3000 educational institutions. Saleh had also pushed for the establishment of the Islamic Arabic University and ibtedayi madrasas in Bangladesh. Despite being a recipient of the Independence Day Award, he has been accused of collaborating with the Pakistan Army and committing war crimes during the Bangladesh Liberation war.

Khandaker Abu Nasr Muhammad Abdullah Jahangir, or simply known as Abdullah Jahangir, was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, professor, author and television presenter. He also made appearances on various national and international television channels discussing contemporary issues relating to Islam including Peace TV, ATN Bangla, NTV, Channel 9 and Islamic TV, and would also participate in public lectures across Bangladesh. He is the founder of As-Sunnah Trust, a non-profit educational charity organisation. During his time as the Professor of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University, Bangladesh, 12 students received PhD and 30 received MPhil. Jahangir authored many books pertaining to Islam in Bengali, English and Arabic. His work on Islamic economics is included in the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board.

The 2021–22 Federation Cup was the 33rd edition of the tournament, the main domestic annual top-tier clubs football competition in Bangladesh organized by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). The 12 participants were competed in the tournament. The tournament was played from 25 December 2021 to 9 January 2022. The winner of the tournament will earn the slot of playing Qualifying play-off of 2023–24 AFC Cup.

<i>Masud Rana</i> (film) 1974 Bangladeshi film

Masud Rana is a Bangladeshi crime action film released in 1974. Masud Rana is a fictional character created by Qazi Anwar Hussain and published under the banner of Sheba Prokashoni. Since 1966, it has published over four hundred books on this character. It was based on the story of Bismoron novel of Masud Rana series, which in turn is based on Strictly for Cash.. by James Hadley Chase. This is the debut film of Sohel Rana.
