Sayer Nunatak is a rocky peak rising to 210 m south of Williams Point on Varna Peninsula, at the north edge of the ice cap of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The nunatak is forming the north extremity of Vidin Heights and surmounting Dragon Cove to the northeast, Griffin Cove to the north-northwest and Charybdis Cove to the southwest.

The feature is named after the American Captain Sayer, Master of the brig General Scott, who carried out sealing operations in this area in 1821–22.

Location

The peak is located at 62°28′21.5″S60°08′04.8″W / 62.472639°S 60.134667°W / -62.472639; -60.134667 which is 2.3 km south of Williams Point, 3.8 km west-northwest of Pomorie Point, 5.92 km north-northwest of Rakovski Nunatak, 2.2 km north of Zhelyava Hill, 7.18 km north by east of Miziya Peak and 4.9 km northeast of Kotis Point (British mapping in 1968, Spanish in 1991, and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009).

Rose Valley Glacier is a glacier on Varna Peninsula, eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica situated northeast of Saedinenie Snowfield, northwest of Debelt Glacier and north of Panega Glacier. It extends 5.2 km in southeast-northwest direction and 3.7 km in southwest-northeast direction, and drains the northeast slopes of Vidin Heights to flow into Lister Cove and McFarlane Strait between Pomorie Point and Inott Point.

Varna Peninsula

Varna Peninsula is a roughly rectangular predominantly ice-covered peninsula forming the northeast extremity of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is bounded by Hero Bay to the northwest, by Moon Bay to the southeast, and by McFarlane Strait to the northeast.

Vidin Heights

Vidin Heights are predominantly ice-covered heights rising to 604 m on Varna Peninsula, eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The feature is approximately 8 km long from the north end of Leslie Gap east-northeastwards to Inott Point and 9.6 km north-northeastwards to Sayer Nunatak. The summit, Miziya Peak, is located 9.25 km north by east of Mount Bowles, 4.24 km north-northeast of Leslie Hill, 9.47 km south of Williams Point and 7.52 km west of Edinburgh Hill. The heights feature also Samuel Peak 1.9 km east-southeast of Miziya Peak, and Sharp Peak at their east-northeast extremity. The heights surmount Saedinenie Snowfield to the northwest, Rose Valley Glacier to the northeast, Debelt Glacier and Panega Glacier to the southeast, and Kaliakra Glacier to the south.

Yakoruda Glacier glacier in Antarctica

Yakoruda Glacier is a glacier on the west slopes of Dryanovo Heights, Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica situated west of Teteven Glacier and northwest of Murgash Glacier. It extends 3.5 km in north-south direction and 2.5 km in east-west direction, is bounded by Greaves Peak, Hrabar Nunatak and Crutch Peaks to the north, Lloyd Hill to the east and Kerseblept Nunatak to the south, and drains westwards into Berende Cove, McFarlane Strait.

Zemen Knoll

Zemen Knoll is a peak of 453 m in the Vidin Heights on Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The knoll overlooks Kaliakra Glacier to the southeast, and Saedinenie Snowfield to the northwest and west. The feature is named after the town of Zemen in Western Bulgaria.

Zlatograd Rock mountain in Livingston Island, South Shetland Islands, Antarctica

Zlatograd Rock is a rocky 240 m peak forming the eastern extremity of Bowles Ridge, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The peak overlooks Struma Glacier to the northwest and Huron Glacier to the southeast. It is named after the town of Zlatograd in the Rhodope Mountains, Southern Bulgaria.

Sigritsa Point

Sigritsa Point is an ice-free point on the northeast coast of Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica forming the northwest side of the entrance to Dragon Cove. The area was visited by 19th century sealers.

Williams Point is the point forming both the north extremity of Varna Peninsula and the northeast tip of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Separated from Zed Islands to the north by Iglika Passage.

Lister Cove cove

Lister Cove is a 2.1 km wide cove indenting for 1.55 km the northeast coast of Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica south of Pomorie Point and north of Karavelova Point. The cove is fed by Rose Valley Glacier.

Willan Nunatak

Willan Nunatak is an ice-free tipped peak rising to 449 m on the glacial divide between Huntress Glacier and Balkan Snowfield on Hurd Peninsula in eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is linked to Burdick South Peak to the northeast by Willan Saddle and, via Castillo Nunatak and Charrúa Gap, to Charrúa Ridge to the west.

Dragon Cove cove

Dragon Cove is a 550 m wide cove indenting for 600 m the northeast coast of Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica entered between Sigritsa Point and Ficheto Point. Surmounted by Sayer Nunatak on the southwest. The area was visited by early 19th century sealers.

Sharp Peak is a sharp rocky peak rising to 500 m in the northeast of Vidin Heights on Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The peak is surmounting Rose Valley Glacier to the northwest and Debelt Glacier to the south.

Greaves Peak mountain in Greenwich Island, South Shetland Islands, Antarctica

Greaves Peak is a conspicuous sharp, dark, double-pointed rocky peak rising to 240 m in the northwest of Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The peak surmounts Yakoruda Glacier to the southeast, Archar Peninsula to the west and Razlog Cove to the northwest.

Bajo Nunatak

Bajo Nunatak is a conspicuous rocky peak rising to 210 m at the south edge of the ice cap of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The nunatak surmounts Zahari Point to the southeast, Micalvi Cove to the east-southeast, and English Strait to the southwest.

Zhelyava Hill

Zhelyava Hill is the ice-covered hill of elevation 237 m in the north part of Vidin Heights on Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is overlooking Williams Point to the north, Rose Valley Glacier to the southeast and Saedinenie Snowfield to the southwest.
