In 2022, Stephanie Bricker became the assistant principal of Sayville High School previously being a Spanish teacher for the school since 2002. [4]
Sayville football won the 2022 Long Island Championship and the Rutgers Cup, making it the team's fifth time in doing so. [5]
The girl's Varsity Cross Country team won the NYSPHAA Championships in 2022 under Coach Tom Duffy. [6]

Sayville football lost in the 2023 Long Island Semifinals to East Islip High School [7] after an injury was sustained to junior QB Jake Triptree, which led to backup sophomore QB Patrick Coan playing in the semifinals. [8]
In October of that same year, it was reported that the boy's varsity soccer season was canceled due to multiple incidents of hazing, bullying, and violence towards younger members of the team, with racism and antisemitism being reported in previous seasons. He played college football at Texas A&M University–Commerce from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, he played junior college football at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California. He was awarded the Harlon Hill Trophy in 2017 as the best football player in NCAA Division II and led the Lions to their second national championship in football during the 2017 season, their first since 1972.
