Scott's Store is a historic commercial building located near Bridgeville, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built about 1875, and is a two-story, rectangular, frame structure in a simplified Victorian Gothic style. It sits on a brick foundation, is sheathed in weatherboard, and a gable roof. The storefront has a pair of double doors and there is the large one-story, hipped porch roof extending across the face of the building. Also on the property are a contributing garage and outhouse, and a submerged round metal tank used to mix carbide gas. It is typical of the no longer numerous 19th-century country stores of southern Delaware. [2]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. [1]

Teddys Tavern United States historic place

Teddy's Tavern, originally called the Blue Hen Garage, is a historic tavern located at Ellendale, Sussex County, Delaware, USA. It was built about 1923, as a service station catering to motorists on the newly constructed Du Pont Highway. It was converted into a roadside tavern in 1937. It is a one-story, polychrome brick building with a low-pitched gable roof, low parapet, and exposed rafter ends in a Mission/Spanish Revival style. It has a flat-roofed "porch" supported by four massive brick and concrete conical columns. The interior consists of a package store, dining areas and a labyrinth of service rooms. It is one of the few surviving service stations or roadside taverns remaining from the pre-1940 era in Delaware.

It was built in 1917, and is a three-story, rectangular steel, concrete, and brick building. The building measures 100 feet by 200 feet and features a projecting roof cornice, flat roof, and large window areas. It is characterized as a fireproof industrial building in the commercial style of the early 1900s. It was originally built as a warehouse to store goatskins for a Wilmington kid leather manufacturer and later housed the plant and offices of a specialty printing firm.

A. P. Carter Store is a historic general store museum located at Maces Spring, Scott County, Virginia. It was built in 1945, and is a one-story, frame building with a cross-gable roof. The store is most notable for its association with the Carter Family, a traditional American folk music group that recorded between 1927 and 1956. It was occupied by a store operated by Alvin Pleasant "A.P." Delaney Carter's (1891–1960).
