Cottrell James Hunter III was an American shot putter and coach. He was the 1999 World Champion, but is perhaps best known for his involvement in the BALCO scandal and as the onetime spouse of sprinter Marion Jones. His personal best was 71' 9", (21.87 m) thrown during a 2nd-place finish in the 2000 US Olympic Trials. A month later he was tested positive for the performance-enhancing steroid Nandrolone at the Bislett Games, which was revealed before he had been scheduled to compete in the 2000 Summer Olympics. He had previously competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, finishing seventh.

Anthony John Hurt is a former New Zealand rower who won two Olympic medals. At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, he again crewed the eight which this time won the Bronze medal. His crewmates this time were Alec McLean, Ivan Sutherland, Trevor Coker, Peter Dignan, Lindsay Wilson, Joe Earl and Dave Rodger and Simon Dickie (cox). In both Olympic races, he was the stroke.

The British Virgin Islands sent a delegation to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, which took place between 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation in London marked its eighth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut in the 1984 Summer Olympics. The British Virgin Islands delegation included two track and field athletes, 100 meter sprinters J'maal Alexander and Tahesia Harrigan-Scott. Alexander failed to progress through the heats whilst Harrigan-Scott was eliminated in her event's quarterfinals.
Scott Hunter Gault is an American rower. He won the bronze medal in the coxless four at the 2012 Summer Olympics, having finished in 5th place in the men's quadruple sculls at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Washington.
Richard Bruce Hunter was an American competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. Hunter swam in the men's 100-meter freestyle, advanced to the finals, and finished fourth overall with a time of 55.6 seconds. He would earn an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1974.

Gloria Russell was an American athlete. Competing in the javelin throw, she finished sixth at the 1932 Summer Olympics. Nationally she placed second in 1928, third in 1932 and fourth in 1929. In 1928–29 she was voted California Girls' State Athlete of the Year. Besides athletics Russell played softball for the J. J. Krieg women's team, which won the national title in 1938 and 1939. In 1929 she also won the national title in the baseball throw. Russell was severely injured in June 1931, when she was hit by a javelin.
