Sebastian Fritzsch (born 20 May 1977 in Cologne) is a German film director, photographer, screenwriter and visual artist.
Fritzsch first studied cultural and theater studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin, before studying photography at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig from 2002. After a six-month internship at the Theater an der Ruhr, Fritzsch began studying at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in 2003, specializing in film directing and photography. [1] During his studies in Cologne, Fritzsch made a lot of short films and held several photo exhibitions. He graduated in 2009 with the narrative short film Traces (Spuren) and a photographic work as his diploma thesis. In the same year, Traces was shown at the 43rd Hof International Film Festival. [2]
In 2010, Fritzsch moved into a studio in the Kunsthaus Essen in Essen and has since worked with the media of painting, drawing, collage and sculpture in parallel to his film and photographic work. He has exhibited in various galleries and exhibition spaces in Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia, where he presented his photographs, paintings, graphics, collages and objects. From 2012 to 2016, he also managed the exhibition program Totale at the venue Maschinenhaus Essen . [3]
In 2013, Fritzsch's first feature-length film End of Time (Endzeit) premiered at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival in the Perspectives on German Cinema (Perspektive Deutsches Kino) section. In the same year, the film celebrated its international premiere at the 18th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, where End of Time was presented in the World Cinema section. This was followed in 2024 by Fritzsch's second feature film The Forest Within (Wald in mir), which was screened in the feature film competition at the Max Ophüls Film Festival in Saarbrücken. [4]

Michael Ruetz was a German photographer, artist, journalist and author. He became first known for photos of the West German student movement that were published by international papers and magazines. Ruetz covered the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia by Soviet troops and military dictatorship in Greece. He focused later on cultural-historical and documentary projects, exploring the "visual world" of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Theodor Fontane in series such as In Goethe's Footsteps. Projects after the 1980s deal with visualizing time and transience, photographing the same objects again and again over a long time.
Sergei Sviatchenko is a Danish-Ukrainian architect, artist, photographer and curator. He is a representative of the Ukrainian New Wave, that arose in Ukraine up through the 1980s. Initiator and creative director of the Less Festival of Collage, Viborg and Just A Few Works. He has lived in Denmark since the 1990s. Sviatchenko graduated from the Kharkov National University of Construction and Architecture in 1975, and in 1986 he obtained a Ph.D. at the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture. Sviatchenko is the son of architect Evgenij Sviatchenko (1924–2004), who was a professor of architecture and a member of the National Ukrainian Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, and engineer Ninel Sviatchenko (1926–2000). In 1975 Sergei Sviatchenko completed his architectural studies at the Kharkov National University of Construction and Architecture. Sergei Sviatchenko is especially oriented towards architecture's modern expressions, including Constructivism and the contemporary European Bauhaus movement. From his teacher, Professor Viktor Antonov, Sviatchenko was introduced to the film director Andrei Tarkovsky, and particularly his film Mirror from 1975 has left a thematic footprint in Sviatchenko's more recent collage art. After having worked as an architect for a number of architectural firms in Kharkov until 1983, Sviatchenko moved to Kyiv, where he graduated the master's program at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, having completed his Ph.D. dissertation "Means to Visual Information in Architecture".
