"See You Soon" (stylized in sentence case "See you soon") is a song by American shoegaze musician Wisp, released on January 24, 2024, through Music Soup and Interscope Records. As the second single off her debut extended play (EP) Pandora (2024).
"See You Soon" is an alternative rock track with traces of dream pop, and is characterized by its swirling, distorted guitars and airy vocals. Alongside the purgative release in the chorus.
In 2023, Natalie Lu a.k.a. Wisp released her debut single, "Your Face". After a friend's recommendation, she recorded vocals over an instrumental by the producer Grayskies. [1] The song went viral on TikTok and brought her a cult following. [2] In June 2023, Wisp began working on new material that would become Pandora. [3] She worked on material at home [4] and in Los Angeles, until the EP's release. [3] Due to the songs often dealing with negative topics, she decided to write a happier song with "See You Soon". [5] The song's central theme is being besotted with a certain person and wanting to spend your time with them. [6] [7] Ashley Bardhan of Pitchfork said “See you soon” starts with the sound of the shrieking wind. [8] The song had racked up multiple streams. [9]
I started going to LA frequently to write music around last June or July [2023] ... it was within the span of that up until when [Pandora] was released, which was early this year.
