Seiya Norimatsu (乗松 聖矢, Norimatsu Seiya, born April 2, 1990) is a Japanese wheelchair rugby player who currently plays for Team SMBC and the Japanese national team.
Norimatsu was born in Ōmuta, Fukuoka and was raised in Fukuoka Prefecture. [1] [2] He graduated from Ariake National College of Technology. [1]
Due to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, Norimatsu was wheelchair bound from the age of 12, started wheelchair basketball at the age of 16, and switched to wheelchair rugby at the age of 23. [3] He was selected to represent Japan at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and contributed to the team's first medal win.
In 2021, Norimatsu was selected as a recommended player for the Japanese national team for the 2020 Summer Paralympics and won a bronze medal. [4] [5] In 2024, he was again selected as a recommended athlete for the Japanese national team for the 2024 Summer Paralympics, with whom he won a gold medal. [6] [7]
The Japan men's national wheelchair basketball team is the wheelchair basketball side that represents Japan in international competitions for men as part of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
The Japan women's national wheelchair basketball team is the wheelchair basketball side that represents Japan in international competitions for women as part of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
The Japan national wheelchair rugby team (日本全国車椅子ラグビーチーム) represents Japan in international wheelchair rugby. Japan is the third most successful team in the Asia-Oceania region, finishing outside the medal places only once in eight appearances at the IWRF Asia-Oceania Championship. Japan have won the tournament once, in 2015 and are also the 2014 Asian Para Games champions. They have reached six Summer Paralympics, winning the gold medal at the 2024 Games in Paris.
Shinya Wada is a visually impaired Japanese long-distance runner. Competing in the T11 classification, Shinya has represented his country at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where he took the bronze medal in the men's 5000m T11 race. He is also a multiple World and Asian Para Games medalist, taking six medals over four tournaments.

Koji Sugeno is a Japanese wheelchair tennis player. At the 2020 Summer Paralympics, he and Mitsuteru Moroishi won bronze medals for Japan in the quad doubles event. Sugeno also finished 4th in the quad singles event. He was born in Ageo and resides in Tokyo.
