The Seoul Metropolitan Subway is a metropolitan railway system consisting of 23 rapid transit, light metro, commuter rail and people mover lines located in northwest South Korea. The system serves most of the Seoul Metropolitan Area including the Incheon metropolis and satellite cities in Gyeonggi province. Some regional lines in the network stretch out beyond the Seoul Metropolitan Area to rural areas in northern Chungnam province and western Gangwon province, that lie over 100 km (62 mi) away from the capital.

Daebang Station is a train station in Seoul, South Korea, and is also a stop on the Seoul Subway Line 1 and the Sillim Line. Before the opening of Line 5, this station served as the main link between the Seoul Metropolitan Subway system and Yeouido, a prominent business district in Seoul. Other places of interest in the vicinity of the station include Noryangjin Park and the Seoul Military Manpower Office, although the latter is closer to Boramae Station on Line 7.
The Seoul City in South Korea plans to build up to ten new light metro, or light rapid transit (LRT). They would be connected to the Seoul Metropolitan Subway giving access to several hundred subway stations. As opposed to traditional subway lines, LRT lines have a lower capacity.
Sillim or Sillim-dong is a statutory division of Gwanak District, Seoul, South Korea. Seoul National University and Nokdu Street are located in the town. Its name means "new forest", which was derived from the woods outstretched from Mt. Gwanak. It consists 11 administrative neighbourhoods.

From this station to Saetgang Station, all stations are underground. There are two late-night trains that stay at the station overnight.
