Serhat Balcı (pronounced [ˈseɾhatˈbaɫdʒɯ] ; born March 15, 1982, in Üsküdar, Istanbul) is a male sport wrestler from Turkey competing in the 96 kg division of freestyle wrestling. The 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall [1] athlete is a member of the Sancaktepe Belediye S.K. in Sancaktepe, Istanbul. [2]

Serhat Balcı holds a silver medal won at the 2011 World Wrestling Championships in Istanbul, Turkey [2] and another silver medal won at the 2005 European Wrestling Championships in Varna, Bulgaria. He represented Turkey at the 2008 Summer Olympics without winning a medal. [1]

He qualified for the participation at the 2012 Summer Olympics representing Turkey where he lost to Magomed Musaev of Dagestan. [3]

Nasuh Akar was a Turkish sports wrestler, who won the gold medal in the Bantamweight class of Men's Freestyle category at the 1948 Olympics.

Tamer Balcı, also known as Toma Balcı, was a Turkish sportsman and film actor of Greek descent. He was a non-starter in the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics while representing Turkey. He started his acting career in 1951 and appeared in 24 movies, including as Tarzan in Tarzan İstanbul'da (1952).
