The Serie A1 di pallamanno femminile is the premier division of the Italian women's handball national league. Established in 1970, it is currently contested by seven clubs. [1]
PF Cassano Magnago is the championship's most successful club with eleven titles in a row between 1986 and 1996, while Jomi Salerno has been the most successful team in the 21st century so far with seven titles between 2004 and 2019. Most recently the 2018-19 edition was won by Jomi Salerno. The competition is currently not granted a spot in the Champions League, and instead its champion and runner-up take part in the EHF Cup. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations, and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria.
Sport in Montenegro revolves mostly around team sports, such as water polo, football, basketball, handball, and volleyball. Other sports involved are boxing, tennis, swimming, judo, karate, athletics, table tennis, and chess.

The French Handball Federation (FFHB) is the national handball association in France. Founded on 1 September 1941, FFHB organizes handball and beach handball within France and represents France internationally. It sorts under the French Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The federation is a member of the European Handball Federation (EHF), Mediterranean Handball Confederation and the International Handball Federation (IHF). The current president of FFHB is Joël Delplanque since 2008.

Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica FC Sassari Torres Femminile is an Italian women's association football club based in Sassari, Sardinia. The club was formed in 1980 and competed in women's Serie A until 2015. Torres's colours were blue and red. The team won seven scudetti and eight Italian Women's Cups. They were refused a license for the 2015–16 Serie A season due to debts and now compete in Serie B.
Dinamo Volgograd is a Russian women's handball club from Volgograd. Founded in 1972 as Burevestnik Volgograd, it represented Rotor Volgograd following the collapse of the Soviet Union and was subsequently named Aqva before taking its current name in 2003.
Ferencvárosi Torna Club is a Hungarian women's handball team from Budapest, that is part of the multi-sports club Ferencvárosi TC. Nicknamed Fradi, the team plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the top level championship in Hungary. They are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won eleven Hungarian championships and as many Hungarian cup titles. FTC also enjoy a good reputation in continental competitions: they lifted the EHF Cup Winners' Cup trophy in 1978, 2011, and 2012, and they were also crowned as the EHF Cup winners in 2006. The team also reached the finals of the EHF Champions League two times, however, they fell short in both occasions.
LNH Division 1, doing business as Starligue and currently known as Liqui Moly Starligue for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional handball league in France. It is administered by the Ligue Nationale de Handball, under delegation from the French Handball Federation. Founded in 1952, it is currently contested by 16 teams.
The 2011–12 EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup is the thirty-sixth edition of the EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup, the continental event for domestic cup winners in Europe. FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria entered the competition as title holders, following triumphed over CB Mar Alicante with an aggregate score of 57–52 in the previous year's finals. The Hungarian team went to the final in this season as well, where they successfully defended their title against Viborg HK with a 31–30 win both on the home and away leg, producing a 62–60 aggregate score.
The Russian Women's Handball Superleague is the premier women's handball competition in Russia. Currently eleven clubs take part in the competition, with the top eight playing the championship play-offs.
Handball Club Teramo 2002, a.k.a. D'Archivio Arche-Artro Teramo for sponsorship reasons, is an Italian women's handball club from Teramo established in 2002. In 2005 it made its debut in EHF competitions, and in 2012 it won the Italian league for the first time.
The Coupe de France féminine de handball is an annual national cup competition for French women's handball clubs. Its champion used to qualify for the EHF Cup Winners' Cup and now qualifies for the Women's EHF European League. Organized by the French Handball Federation, it first took place in 1985 but it has been discontinued in several occasions.
Montenegrin men's handball clubs are participating in the EHF competitions since the season 1995/96.
Montenegrin women's handball clubs are participating in the EHF competitions since the season 1984/85.
At the earlier times, Montenegrin teams represented SFR Yugoslavia or FR Yugoslavia in European competitions, and from 2006 and Montenegrin independence, they qualify through Montenegrin First League of Women's Handball and Montenegrin Women's Handball Cup.
PDO Handball Team Salerno, also known as Jomi Salerno due to sponsorship reasons, is a women's handball club from Salerno in Italia. Jomi Salerno competes in the Serie A.
The 2019–20 Women's EHF Cup was the 39th edition of EHF's second-tier women's handball competition. It started on 7 September 2019. Siófok KC were defending champions. On 24 April 2020 EHF announced that the competition would be cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
