Mixed martial arts career

After compiling a record of 1–1 as an amateur, [2] Dikun turn professional in April 2006, facing Joe Alvarado at California Xtreme Fighting 1 on April 29, 2006. He lost his debut bout via armbar submission, just over one minute into the first round. [3]

Despite a disappointing debut, Dikun would continue his MMA career and compile a professional record of 6–2, and then signed with now-defunct promotion World Extreme Cagefighting in January 2009.

World Extreme Cagefighting

In January 2009, Dikun signed a multi-fight contract to fight in the Bantamweight division of the WEC. He faced the former King of the Cage Bantamweight Champion, Charlie Valencia in his debut at WEC 38 on January 25, 2009. Dikun lost the bout via unanimous decision. [4]

For his second fight within the promotion, Dikun faced Rolando Perez at WEC 41 on June 7, 2009. He won the bout via flying triangle choke, and in a finish that would earn Dikun his first Submission of the Night honor. [5]

Dikun then faced Frank Gomez at WEC 44 on November 18, 2009. [6] He lost the bout via unanimous decision, and after dropping to 1–2 inside the promotion, would be released from the company.

Post-WEC career

Following his WEC release, Dikun would take a near two-year hiatus from mixed martial arts. Dikun would make his return against Tyler Weathers at FCOC: Fight Club OC on April 21, 2011. He won the fight via triangle choke, at fifty-seven seconds into the first round. [7]

After this win, Dikun signed with California based promotion King of the Cage in mid-2013. Dikun then dropped to Featherweight and faced Nick Piedmont at KOTC: Validation on July 11, 2013, and lost the bout via unanimous decision. [8]

Although Dikun lost his first bout in KOTC, he would challenge Henry Corrales for the KOTC Featherweight Championship at KOTC: Beaten Path on March 6, 2014. He lost the bout via doctor stoppage TKO, giving him the first losing streak of his career. [9] In his next fight, Dikun faced Trace Gray at KOTC: Slugfest on June 5, 2014. He won the bout via unanimous decision. [10] Dikun then faced Henry Corrales in a rematch at KOTC: Battle for the Belts on October 2, 2014. He lost the fight via second round guillotine choke. [11]
