The Seville metropolitan area is an urban area in Andalusia (Spain) centered on the city of Seville. With a population of over 1.5 million people, it is the fourth largest urban area in Spain, after Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. It is also the largest urban area in Andalusia and Southern Spain.
The Seville metropolitan area is composed by 46 municipalities, in whose center lies the city of Seville (which represents about half of the population). The area can be divided further into 4 regions.
The western part coincides with the Aljarafe region. It is the most populated area after the Seville itself, with roughly 400,000 inhabitants. It lies on the western bank of the Guadalquivir river. The largest city is Mairena del Aljarafe, the fifth largest city in the Province of Seville
The southern part lies along the Autovía A-4 highway, connecting Seville and Cádiz. Over 220,000 people live in this area, of which 140,000 are in Dos Hermanas, the second largest city in the province.
The eastern area is made up of several municipalities in the Baetic Depression. More than 150,000 people live in this area, half of which live in Alcalá de Guadaira, the third largest city in the province.
The northern area contains several municipalities between the city of Seville and Sierra Morena. This area accounts over 100,000 people. Its largest municipality is La Rinconada, the sixth largest city in the province.

Seville Metro line 1 western end is located in Mairena del Aljarafe. It also crosses San Juan de Aznalfarache before entering the city of Seville. The eastern end is located in Montequinto, a district of Dos Hermanas.
The area also has a commuter rail system: Cercanías Sevilla. Line C1 runs through the metropolitan area from north to south, while Line C3 only services the north. Line C5 connects Seville to the northwestern region of Aljarafe.

From the western side of the island, it is linked by road bridge to the city of San Juan de Aznalfarache and shares a boundary in the Guadalquivir with the city of Gelves. The southern tip of La Cartuja is opposite the municipality of Dos Hermanas.

Gelves is a city located in the province of Seville, in Andalusia, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the city has a population of 8,325 inhabitants. It lies on the west bank of the Guadalquivir river.
San Juan de Aznalfarache is a city located in the province of Seville, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the city has a population of 20,121 inhabitants.
The Line 1 of Seville Metro connects the capital, Seville, with Mairena del Aljarafe, San Juan de Aznalfarache and Montequinto.
Ciudad Expo is one of the two end point stations of Seville Metro on the line 1. It will also be a tram stop of the Aljarafe tram line. Ciudad Expo is a ground station located in the avenue of Los Descubrimientos in the municipality of Mairena del Aljarafe. It was opened on 2 April 2009.
Cavaleri is a station of line 1 of the Seville metro. It is located in the Jagüey Grande Square, in the municipality of Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville. Cavaleri is an underground type station, situated between Ciudad Expo and San Juan Alto on the same line. It was opened on April 2, 2009.
Mairena del Aljarafe is a municipality in the province of Seville, Spain. In 2009, it had a population of 40,700 inhabitants. Its superficial extension is 17,7 km2 and has a population density of 2,470.23 inhabitants/km2

Alqatara Rugby Club Andalucía called Helvetia Rugby for reasons of sponsorship, was a Spanish rugby team from Seville, founded in 2014 by a collaboration agreement between the CAR Sevilla and Unión Aljarafe Sevilla to compete in the División de Honor B. The team was disbanded in 2017 at the end of the collaboration agreement.

Unión Aljarafe Sevilla, is a Spanish rugby union club. The club currently competes in the Liga Iberdrola, the 1st level of Spanish women's club rugby, competition they have won 2 times, under the name of University of Seville CR, and currently known as Simón Verde Magnolia Cocos for sponsorship purposes.
