Petta ( transl. Hood) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth in the titular role, alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, M. Sasikumar, Simran, Trisha, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan, Mahendran, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Aadukalam Naren, Munishkanth and Sananth. It follows Kaali, a newly hired hostel warden, who gets dragged into war after an old enemy, Singaaram, resurfaces.
Simran is an Indian actress and film producer known for her works in Tamil films. She has also appeared in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada films. She is well noted for her dancing and acting skills in the Indian film industry. After her marriage, Simran took a break from acting in films and moved on to the small screen where she acted in Jaya TV's serial Simran Thirai, which consisted of mini-serials all featuring Simran and included many popular stars such as Ramji, Raaghav, Saakshi Siva and Abitha playing supporting roles. She played as a main judge on the reality show Dance Tamizha Dance, which was produced by her and her husband Mr Deepak Bagga for Zee Tamizh.
Sarpatta Parambarai, or simply Sarpatta, is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language period sports action film directed by Pa. Ranjith, who also co-produced the film under his banner Neelam Productions, along with Shanmugam Dhakshanaraj of K9 Studios. The film stars Arya, John Kokken, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Dushara Vijayan, Pasupathy, Anupama Kumar and Sanchana Natarajan. Set in the 1970s, the film revolves around a clash between two clans namely Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai in North Chennai, which also showcases the boxing culture in the locality and the politics involved in it.
Jagame Thandhiram is the eleven-song soundtrack album composed by Santhosh Narayanan for the 2021 Tamil film of the same name, starring Dhanush and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Continuing his association with Subbaraj after Anirudh Ravichander being roped in for Petta, the film also marks Santhosh's third collaboration with Dhanush after Kodi, Vada Chennai and Karnan. The album which featured lyrics written by Vivek, Dhanush, Arivu, Anthony Daasan and Madurai Babaraj was released by Sony Music India on 6 June 2021.

Anish John Kokken is an Indian actor and former model who has appeared in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam films, playing mostly negative roles. He got recognition for playing Vembuli in Sarpatta Parambarai (2021).
Jigarthanda DoubleX is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and jointly produced by him, Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, S. Kathiresan and Alankar Pandian under Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations and Invenio Origin. The film is a spiritual successor and prequel to Jigarthanda (2014) and stars Raghava Lawrence, S. J. Suryah, Nimisha Sajayan, Ilavarasu, Sathyan, Naveen Chandra, Shine Tom Chacko and Aravind Akash. Set in the 1970s, it revolves around an upcoming policeman trying to kill a gangster by going undercover as a filmmaker.
Suriya 44 is the working title of an upcoming Indian Tamil-language gangster film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainment. The film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Sujith Shankar, Thamizh, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Sandeep Raj, Murugavel, Remya Suresh and MD Asif.
Bhairathi Ranagal is an upcoming 2024 Indian Kannada-language neo-noir action thriller film directed by Narthan and produced by Geetha Shivarajkumar under Geetha Pictures. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, and Rahul Bose in the lead roles, while Rukmini Vasanth, Devaraj, Chaya Singh, Madhu Guruswamy, Vasishta N. Simha, Shabeer Kallarakkal and Babu Hirannaiah play supporting roles. It is a follow-up to the 2017 film, Mufti, serving as both a sequel and prequel.
