Worlds Beyond is a sequel to Shadowverse . It employs a similar anime art style, along with many cards and characters being reused, usually with different text and art. This game continues the employment of Shadowverse's unique mechanic, evolution, which employs the use of "evolution points" to boost cards and activate extra effects. A new mechanic, featured as the sale point of this game, is the Super Evolution mechanic. [2]

Worlds Beyond matches are structured between two people, or one person and a bot, where players play and draw cards from their deck. Each player is represented by a "leader" that are unique to each class, or "-craft", named after the fact that all the classes end with the suffix craft. The game begins with both people drawing 4 cards from their 40 card deck, a change from the original Shadowverse's 3 card starting hand. They may then redraw any of these one time, in which case the card is shuffled into the deck and a different card is drawn.
