PCGamesN is a British online video game magazine focusing on PC gaming and hardware. It has a full-time team of over a dozen writers and is the oldest owned-and-operated site within publishing group Network N.
Parent company Network N was founded by James Binns (formerly of Future Publishing) in late May 2012. [1] [2] [3] PCGamesN launched the following month. [4]
PCGamesN's first website was designed to host traditional games coverage alongside aggregated and user-created content, [1] which was presented to the reader in channels dedicated to major gaming franchises. Over the course of two redesigns since launch, it has evolved to fully embrace a more traditional approach, and now produces original coverage across the gamut of PC games and hardware.
The launch team included Tim Edwards, former editor of PC Gamer . [1] PCGamesN added ten new channels and two new writers for a total of seven staff writers in August 2012. [5] The website added editorial staff from GamesMaster [6] and the Official PlayStation Magazine in 2015, [7] most notably new editor-in-chief Joel Gregory. Gregory brought in staff from Edge Magazine and Kotaku UK in 2017, [8] concluded the site's transition away from its experimental first form, and oversaw a redesign, unveiling PCGamesN's current layout in August 2018. [9] Network N Media has since launched or relaunched its other owned sites (The Loadout, Pocket Tactics, Wargamer , The Digital Fix, and Custom PC [10] ) based on PCGamesN's new look and technology.
Ben Maxwell took over as editor of PCGamesN in May 2018, before stepping up to a new leadership role within the publishing group in November 2020. He was succeeded in 2020 by Richard Scott-Jones. In 2023, Cameron Bald was appointed Editor of PCGamesN.
Steam is a video game digital distribution service and storefront developed by Valve Corporation. It was launched as a software client in September 2003 to provide game updates automatically for Valve's games, and expanded to distributing third-party titles in late 2005. Steam offers various features, like game server matchmaking with Valve Anti-Cheat measures, social networking, and game streaming services. Steam client's functions include game update automation, cloud storage for game progress, and community features such as direct messaging, in-game overlay functions and a virtual collectable marketplace.
Rebellion Developments Limited is a British video game developer based in Oxford, England. Founded by Jason and Chris Kingsley in December 1992, the company is best known for its Sniper Elite series and multiple games in the Alien vs. Predator series. Sister company Rebellion Publishing has published comic books since 2000, when it purchased 2000 AD, the publisher of characters such as Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper.
PC Format was a computer magazine published in the United Kingdom by Future plc, and licensed to other publishers in countries around the world. In publication between 1991 and 2015, it was part of Future plc's Format series of magazines that include articles about games, entertainment and how to get the most out of the platform. Despite the occasional mention of alternatives, PC Format takes the term 'PC' to mean a Microsoft Windows-based computer.

Custom PC was a UK-based computer magazine originally published by Dennis Publishing Ltd and subsequently sold to Raspberry Pi Trading Ltd. It was aimed at PC hardware enthusiasts, covering topics such as modding, overclocking, and PC gaming. The first issue was released in October 2003 and it was published monthly until the final issue, number 235, was released in February 2023.

MCV/Develop is a UK trade magazine that focuses on the business aspects of the video game industry. GamesRadar+ is an entertainment website for video game-related news, previews, and reviews. It is owned by Future plc. In late 2014, Future Publishing-owned sites Total Film, SFX, Edge and Computer and Video Games were merged into GamesRadar, with the resulting, expanded website being renamed GamesRadar+ in November that year.
Total PC Gaming was a monthly magazine published by Imagine Publishing, launched in 2007 it ran until March 2010. The magazine featured videogame industry news, game reviews, hardware reviews, and sections dedicated to fans of retro gaming and Massively multiplayer online games.
Ace of Spades was a 2012 first-person shooter and voxel-based sandbox video game developed and published by Jagex. Originally created by Ben Aksoy and released as a prototype in April 2011, the game was acquired by Jagex in 2012 and fully released in December that year. The PCGamingWiki is a British-based collaboratively edited free wiki internet encyclopaedia focused on collecting video game behaviour data, to optimising gameplay, and fixing issues found in PC games. Intended fixes and optimisations range from simple cut-scene removals, to modifications that allow for wide-screen resolutions, and more. The wiki site runs on MediaWiki software, and was created by Andrew Tsai, a British businessman from London, England. The site was founded on 9 February 2012. As of October 2022, the PCGamingWiki has more than 30,000 registered users, and 48,000 content pages. Since its inception, the PCGamingWiki has been featured on numerous gaming focused websites, including Kotaku, Destructoid, and Rock Paper Shotgun. It regularly receives more than 10,000 unique page views a day.
Gamer Network Limited is a British digital media company based in Brighton. Founded in 1999 by Rupert and Nick Loman, it owns brands—primarily editorial websites—relating to video game journalism and other video game businesses. Its flagship website, Eurogamer, was launched alongside the company. It began hosting video game trade show EGX in 2008. In 2018, it was acquired by ReedPop, a division of RELX.
Rollingmedia Limited is a British video game developer based in London. Founded in 2008 by Simon Bennett, Tom Hegarty, and John Ribbins, the company initially developed educational games on a contract basis before shifting to original intellectual properties in 2012. Roll7's OlliOlli, first released in 2014 for the PlayStation Vita, became highly successful and landed the company a publishing deal. Other products sold on the site are software, prepaid activation codes, electronics, and merchandise. As of March 2020, G2A's site has 20 million users.
