Politics of Bangladesh takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic,whereby the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the head of government,and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The Constitution of Bangladesh was written in 1972,and has undergone seventeen amendments.
Hussain Muhammad Ershad was a Bangladeshi military officer and politician who served as the leader of Bangladesh from 1982 to 1990,ruling as an unelected military strongman from 1982 to 1983 and as president of Bangladesh from 1983 to 1990.
The Jatiya Party (Bengali:জাতীয়পার্টি,romanized: Jatiyo Party,lit. 'National Party';JaPa or JP(E)) is a political party in Bangladesh. The current chairman of the party is Ghulam Muhammed Quader. On 3 January 2019,the party announced its decision to join the Bangladesh Awami League-led Grand Alliance after having been in opposition for the previous parliamentary term. However,the party backtracked the next day and announced that it intended to remain part of the opposition.

Nilphamari district is a district in Northern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division. It is about 400 kilometers to the northwest of the capital Dhaka. It has an area of 1,580.85 square kilometres (610.37 sq mi). Nilphamari is bounded by Rangpur and Lalmonirhat in east,Rangpur and Dinajpur in south,Dinajpur and Panchagarh in west,Cooch Behar of India in north. The many rivers in Nilphamari district include the Tista,Buritista,Isamoti,Jamuneshwari,Dhum,Kumlai,Charalkata,Sorbomongola,Salki,Chikli,Chara and Deonai. There are four Municipal Corporation in Nilphamari district. Area of these Municipalities are Nilphamari 42.70 SqKm(27.50 SqKm Present,15.20 SqKm Ongoing),Saidpur-34.42 SqKm,Jaldhaka-28.22 SqKm and Domar-9.421 SqKm. There are 60(sixty) Unions,370 Moujas and 378 Village in Nilphamari district.

Mashiur Rahman,also known as Jadu Mia,was a senior minister,with the rank and status of prime minister in charge of the Ministry of Railways,Roads and Highways of Bangladesh from 29 June 1978 to 12 March 1979. He was the founder of Bangladesh Jatyiotabadi Dal,the whole process of transition to multi-party democracy was his brainchild. He named the party and the election symbol was given to the party from his party NAP.
Abdul Haleem Chowdhury was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician,Member of Parliament,and government minister. He is a retired captain of Pakistan Army and fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War. His son-in-law is Mafizul Islam Khan Kamal.
Shah Moazzem Hossain was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the last deputy prime minister of Bangladesh. He was elected as the Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Rangpur-6 constituency as a Jatiya Party candidate in a by-election in September 1991 and served until November 1995.

Begum Monsura Mohiuddin was a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and a former member of parliament for Nilphamari-1. She was the eldest daughter of former Senior Minister Mashiur Rahman and sister of former cabinet minister Shawfikul Ghaani Shapan. She was married to former diplomat and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations A. H. G. Mohiuddin. She died on 25 November 2021.
The Bangladesh National Awami Party-Bangladesh NAP is a political party in Bangladesh. The party traces its origins to a splinter group of the National Awami Party (Bhashani) led by Mashiur Rahman,who was popularly known as Jadu Mia. Jadu Mia's NAP faction had merged with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in the late 1970s. Jadu Mia's son Shafiqul Ghani Swapan refounded the Bangladesh National Awami Party in December 2006. Shafiqul Ghani Swapan died in 2009,after which Jebel Rahman Ghaani took over as party chairman.
