Shakeel Ahmad Khan (born 1 January 1965) is a member of the 16th assembly of Bihar state in India. [1] [2] [3] He is a National secretary of the Indian National Congress (INC). [4]
Shakeel Ahmad Khan was born in Kabar Kothi village of Katihar district in Bihar. He got his early education at his native village. He did his graduation from Patna University. However he moved to Delhi to pursue higher studies. He continued his education at Jawaharlal Nehru University from where he obtained M.A.,M.Phil. and Ph.D. [5] [6] [7]
Shakeel Ahmad Khan was first elected as MLA in 2015 from Kadwa assembly seat in Katihar district,Bihar. [8] He defeated his close contestant Chandra Bhushan Thakur from Bhartiya Janata Party with a margin of 5,799 votes. Shakeel Ahmad Khan got 56,141 votes,while his opponent could manage only 50,342 votes. [9] Kadwa is one of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies of Bihar. It is in Katihar district of the state. As per the implementation of the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India,the Dandkhora and Kadwa community development blocks are covered by the Kadwa assembly segment.
Shakeel Ahmad Khan started his political journey as student leader. He got elected as President of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union,New Delhi in the year 1992. [10] [11] [12] [13] Though he was an activist of Students' Federation of India (SFI),a student wing of Communist Party of India (Marxist),he joined Indian National Congress in 1999 and got elevated to the position of Secretary of AICC. [14] Currently he is Party-in-Charge for the state of West Bengal. [15]

Shri Krishna Singh (Sinha) (21 October 1887 –31 January 1961),also known as Shri Babu,was the first chief minister of the Indian state of Bihar (1946–61). Except for the period of World War II,Sinha was the chief minister of Bihar from the time of the first Congress Ministry in 1937 until his death in 1961. Along with the Desh Ratna Rajendra Prasad and Bihar Vibhuti Anugrah Narayan Sinha (A.N. Sinha),Sinha is regarded among the architects of modern Bihar. He also led the Dalit entry into the Baidyanath Dham temple (Vaidyanath Temple,Deoghar). He was the first chief minister in the country to abolish the zamindari system. He underwent terms of imprisonment for a total of about eight years in British India. Sinha's mass meetings brought many people to hear him. He was known as Bihar Kesari for his "lionlike roars" in public speaking. His close friend and Gandhian Bihar Vibhuti A.N. Sinha in his essay Mere Shri Babu wrote that,"Since 1921,the History of Bihar has been the history of the life of Shri Babu". The 'Bihar Kesari' never visited his constituency to ask for votes as he believed that his work will speak for him.
Chandrashekar Prasad,popularly known as Chandu and Comrade Chandrashekhar was a student leader and later an activist affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation. He graduated from the Jawaharlal Nehru University,and served as the president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union for two terms. Prasad played a key role in the development of All India Students Association.
All India Students' Association (AISA) is a left wing student organisation in India. It describes itself as "the voice of the radical students' movement" and is affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation. The association was previously affiliated to the IPF. The association was founded in Allahabad on 9 August 1990 with the merger of several left wing students organisations across India. AISA have organisational presence in the states and union territories of Delhi,Chandigarh,Uttarakhand,Uttar Pradesh,Assam,Uttarakhand,Bihar,Jharkhand,West Bengal,Tripura,etc. Nilasis Bose is the National President of AISA and Prasenjeet Kumar is its National General Secretary.

Kanhaiya Kumar is an Indian political activist who served as the president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union and leader of the All India Students Federation (AISF). He served as National Executive Council member of Communist Party of India. He joined Indian National Congress on 28 September 2021 and has been appointed as the AICC in-charge of the National Student's Union of India.
On 9 February 2016,some students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) held a protest on their campus against the capital punishment meted out to the 2001 Indian Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru,and Kashmiri separatist Maqbool Bhat. The organisers of the event were former members of the Democratic Students' Union (DSU). The event was held despite the university administrations withdrawing permission for the event shortly before it was due to begin,due to protests by members of the student union of ABVP. The event saw clashes between various student groups. A video was circulated by an Indian news channel,Zee News,in which a small group of individuals,whom a later university-investigation described as outsiders to the university wearing masks,shouted "anti-India" slogans.
Shehla Rashid Shora is an Indian human rights activist who has pursued her Ph.D. at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was the vice-president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) in 2015–16 and was a member of the All India Students Association (AISA). She rose to prominence whilst leading the student agitation calling for the release for Kanhaiya Kumar,Umar Khalid and others who were arrested on charges of sedition in February 2016 for participating and organizing sloganeering in JNU.
Najeeb Ahmed was a student of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU),New Delhi,India,who went missing from his hostel on the university campus under suspicious circumstances on 15 October 2016.

Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students' Association (BAPSA) is a student organization formed on 15 November 2014 at Jawaharlal Nehru University on the anniversary of Birsa Munda's birth. It claims to work for student rights and the issues affecting Scheduled Castes,Scheduled Tribes,OBCs and other minority groups. BAPSA says it stands for assertion,follows Ambedkarite ideology and is critical of both left and right-wing forces on campus. BAPSA is also active in Central University of Gujarat.
On 5 January 2020,more than 50 masked people armed with rods,sticks and acid attacked the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University,Delhi,and injured more than 39 students and teachers. Many students received serious injuries. Professors who tried to intervene and protect the students,as well as ambulances carrying injured individuals,were attacked. Eyewitnesses stated that police within the campus did not intervene to stop the mob. After attacking residents of the university campus for three hours,the mob escaped;none of its members was arrested or detained. All 36 students who were injured and admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences,New Delhi (AIIMS) were discharged within 24 hours.
Sharjeel Imam is an Indian student activist from Kako village of Jehanabad,Bihar. He had completed his B.Tech. and M.Tech. from IIT-Bombay and joined Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2013 for completing his master's degree in Modern History and in 2015 he started Ph.D. from the same university. He is known for his allegedly inflammatory speeches made during anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests which led to his arrest under sedition.

She is also a member of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. She is the recipient of numerous awards,and has published widely on public administration in India. Singh has been criticized for controversial statements made regarding Dalits,Muslims,and Jammu and Kashmir.
Dipsita Dhar is an Indian politician and student activist. She is the All India Joint Secretary of Students' Federation of India. She was the CPI(M) candidate from Bally constituency for 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. She contested the 2024 Indian General Election as a CPI(M) candidate from Serampore but gathered only 16.20% votes and lost her security deposit.

It was formed with aim to counter the growing influence of right wing students organization like ABVP,a students front of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Left Unity predominantly consists of four major students organisations - AISF,AISA,SFI,and DSF. The panel of Left Unity has won the election of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union for four consecutive years.
Aishe Ghosh is an Indian politician and student activist. She is a former President of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union and is a Member of the Students' Federation of India. She was also the CPI(M) candidate from Jamuria constituency for 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election and lost to Hareram Singh.
