Shane William Rawley (born July 27,1955) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. [1] He played all or part of twelve seasons in the majors,from 1978 through 1989,for the Seattle Mariners,New York Yankees,Philadelphia Phillies,and Minnesota Twins.
Rawley was selected to the National League All-Star team in 1986 as a member of the Phillies. The next year,he won a career high 17 games,leading the NL in games started with 36. In his major league career,Rawley's record was 111-118,with 991 strikeouts and a 4.02 earned run average (ERA).
After retiring from baseball,he has owned Shaner's Pizzeria in Sarasota,Florida. [2]
Michael Jack Schmidt is an American former professional baseball third baseman who played his entire 18-season career in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. Schmidt was a 12-time All-Star and a three-time winner of the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player award (MVP),and he was known for his combination of power hitting and strong defense. As a hitter,he compiled 548 home runs and 1,595 runs batted in (RBIs),and led the NL in home runs eight times and in RBIs four times. As a fielder,Schmidt won the National League Gold Glove Award for third basemen ten times. Schmidt was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995 and is widely considered to be the greatest third baseman in baseball history.
Charles Herbert Klein,nicknamed the "Hoosier Hammer",was an American professional baseball outfielder. Klein played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies,Chicago Cubs (1934–1936),and Pittsburgh Pirates (1939).
Samuel Luther "Big Sam" Thompson was an American professional baseball player from 1884 to 1898 and with a brief comeback in 1906. The team was known as the Comeback Kids as they rebounded from the 54 wins and 107 losses of the 1988 season.
