Netball at the Commonwealth Games, together with the Netball World Cup, is one of the two major tournaments in international netball. All the major netball playing nations are members of the Commonwealth of Nations. It was first played in 1990 as a demonstration sport. It has been an official Commonwealth Games sport since 1998. Australia have been the tournament's most successful team, winning four gold medals. New Zealand have won two gold medals. Between 1998 and 2014, Australia and New Zealand contested every final and won every gold and silver medal between them. In 2018, England became only the third team to both reach the final and win the gold medal.
The Jamaica national netball team, commonly known as the Sunshine Girls, represent Jamaica in international netball competitions. Netball is the number one women's sport in Jamaica as well as the number one team sport in the island, based on World Rankings and recent history and the majority of the schools in Jamaica participate. Netball receives full media coverage on television, radio and in newspapers but does not get as much coverage as less successful team sports such as football and cricket. Jamaica were coached by former representative Oberon Pitterson, and captained by midcourt veteran Nadine Bryan up to the end of 2013. However, a Technical Director and new coach, were appointed in early 2014. As of 1 July 2020, Jamaica are fourth in the INF World Rankings. The senior Jamaican netball team is widely known as the Sunshine Girls, the Jamaican Fast 5 netball team is known as Jamaica Fast5 or the FAST5 Girls.
Team Northumbria is an English netball team based at Northumbria University. Between 2001 and 2005 they played in the Super Cup as Northern Flames. They also played as Team Northumbria Flames. Between 2005–06 and 2018, their senior team played in the Netball Superleague. The netball team is one of several sports teams based at Northumbria University that use the Team Northumbria brand name. Others include an association football team and a basketball team. In 2018 Northumbria University announced it was withdrawing seven of its national league sports teams due to cuts to its elite sport programme. This included Team Northumbria withdrawing from the Netball Superleague.
Ama Agbeze is an England netball international. She was captain when England won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. In 2019 she received an for her services to netball. She was also a member of the England team that won the bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. As of 2020, Agbeze has played for at least sixteen different club teams in England, Australia and New Zealand.
Jhaniele Fowler is a professional Jamaican netball player and as of 2018 a member of the West Coast Fever in the Suncorp Super Netball League. Fowler also plays domestic netball in Jamaica for the Waulgrovians club, and has been a member of the Jamaica national netball team since 2010.
Helen Housby is a professional English netball player. She has represented the England national netball team since 2014. Housby played club netball for the Superleague side Manchester Thunder from 2013 to 2016, helping them win the 2014 Superleague Grand-Final against rivals Surrey Storm. Since 2017 she plays for the New South Wales Swifts.

Eboni Usoro-Brown is an English former netball player who played for England and for Queensland Firebirds in the position of defender as well as the goal keeper. She attended Gordon's School in Surrey from 2001 to 2004. Usoro-Brown graduated from the University of Bristol with an LLB Law degree in 2009, before completing the LLM degree in 2010 at the same Law School. Usoro-Brown went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of the West of England.
Nicole Dixon is a Jamaican netball player. She was part of the Jamaican squad that won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was an unused reserve member of the 2014 team.
Stacian Facey is a Jamaican netball player. She was part of the teams that won bronze at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games, and that placed fourth at the 2015 Netball World Cup.
Rebekah Robinson is a Jamaican netball player. She was part of the Jamaican squad that won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Shamera Sterling is a Jamaican netball player. She was part of the Jamaican squad that won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Earlier that year she was signed by Loughborough Lightning in the Netball Superleague. After a brief stint at Loughborough, she moved to the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the Australian Super Netball league in the 2019 season.
Sasher-Gaye Henry is a Jamaican former international netball player and current co-coach of the Jamaica national netball team, the Sunshine Girls. Henry won a bronze medal in netball at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She was appointed co-head coach of the Sunshine Girls in 2017, along with Marvette Anderson, after the resignation of previous coach Jermaine Allison-McCracken. Henry and Anderson coached the Sunshine Girls to another bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia.
Paula Thompson is a Jamaican netball player who currently plays for Jamaica internationally. She was one of the members of the Jamaican netball team which secured bronze medals at the 2010 World Netball Series, 2013 Fast5 Netball World Series, 2014 Commonwealth Games, and in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Jodi-Ann Ward is a Jamaican netball player who plays in the Australian Suncorp Super Netball league for Giants Netball. She has also represented the Jamaica at an international level since 2017.
Khadijah Williams is a Jamaican international netball player. Primarily a midcourter, Williams debuted for the Jamaica national netball team, the Sunshine Girls, in 2013 against England. She was a member of the team that won bronze at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games, and that finished fourth at the 2015 Netball World Cup.
