Shankar Vihar is a residential complex for serving personnel of the Indian Armed Forces and their families, provided by the Government of India. Currently there are more than 278 houses including Permanent & Temporary. It is surrounded by an airbase, open fields and scrub forests. It is located in Delhi Cantonment.
Shankar Vihar houses a huge shopping complex and an Army Public School, among other things.
The area is well maintained and has scenic viewpoints as well as manicured parks, gymnasiums, swimming pools and restaurants.
Ravi Shankar is an Indian guru and spiritual leader. He is also referred to as Sri Sri or Gurudev. From around the mid 1970s, he worked as an apprentice under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of Transcendental Meditation. In 1981, he founded the Art of Living foundation.

Sarita Vihar is a residential colony situated in South East Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi, India. It is near the Kalindi Kunj- Noida Toll bridge or GD Birla Marg-Road 13A which connects the district to Noida.The area is situated close to Uttar pradesh border. It is believed that the site was primarily chosen as the construction site for the Games Village of the 1982 Asian Games, however on the insistence of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the plan was changed to convert it into an upscale residential housing locality. The Yamuna Sports Complex is a sports complex located in Surajmal Vihar, New Delhi, India. Inaugurated in 1999, it has wide spectrum of sporting facilities. It is owned by the Delhi Development Authority. It was one of the multiple venues for the 2010 Commonwealth Games

Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is a national park in Supin Range, near Uttarkashi town in the district and state of the same name in India. It was established initially as a wildlife sanctuary in 1955, and was later converted into a national park. It is named after prominent Indian freedom fighter and politician Govind Ballabh Pant, who became Home Minister in 1955 and is credited for establishing Hindi as an official language of India.

The Shankar Vihar metro station is a stop on the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro. This represents part of the third phase of development of the Delhi Metro. It was opened to public on 29 May 2018. It is the only station in the Delhi Metro network where free movement of civilians is restricted, as it falls in the Delhi Cantonment area and "right in heart of defence zone".
