Sharmila Kumari Panta is a Former Governor of Sudurpashchim Province . [1] She was sworn on 4 November 2019 by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. She has been The president of Disappeared Family Society,Member of Board of Directors of Nepal Airlines Corporation and Member of Conflict Affected Persons and Structure Data Collection Task Force.

The provinces of Nepal were formed on 20 September 2015 in accordance with Schedule 4 of the Constitution of Nepal. The seven provinces were formed by grouping the existing districts. The province covers an area of 19,515.52 km2 - about 13.22% of the country's total area. As per a 28 September 2018 Assembly voting, the city of Godawari has been declared the capital of the Province. The province is coterminous with the former Far-Western Development Region, Nepal. He was unanimously selected Parliamentary Party leader of Communist Party of Nepal for Sudurpashchim pradesh on 12 February 2018. He was appointed as the chief minister, according to Article 168 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal and took the oath of his office and secrecy as a chief minister on 17 February 2018.

Mohan Raj Malla was a Nepalese politician and the first Governor of Sudurpashchim Province. He was appointed Governor, as per the Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on 19 January 2019. He was also former village assembly chief and national assembly member of the Panchayat regime.
