Bailter Space is a New Zealand shoegaze and noise rock band that formed in Christchurch, in 1987 as Nelsh Bailter Space; they had previously recorded as The Gordons. Its members are Alister Parker, John Halvorsen, Brent McLachlan. After releasing seven studio albums, numerous EPs/singles and a career retrospective compilation, Bailter Space went on an extended hiatus in 2004. They returned in August 2008 to play the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan.

The High Back Chairs was a band from Washington, DC. Initially consisting of guitarist/vocalist Peter Hayes, guitarist Jim Spellman, bassist/vocalist Charles Steck, and drummer/vocalist Jeff Nelson, the group released its music on the Washington, D.C. punk record label, Dischord Records. The band eschewed the post-hardcore and hardcore punk sounds that Dischord was known for. Instead, the High-Back Chairs' music was highly melodic indie rock, owing more to power pop and jangle pop than to the band's punk rock roots. This was all the more notable since Nelson was a co-founder of Dischord and had played in the influential hardcore punk band, Minor Threat from 1980 to 1983. "Coming out at a time when grunge held a lot of sway in Amerindie land," Trouser Press later said of the band, "this breezy, supremely melodic, gutsy rock seemed almost noble."
Second Layer were an English post-punk band formed in 1979 by Adrian Borland and Graham Bailey, both members of the Sound.
White Rose Transmission is a musical project which initially consisted of Adrian Borland and vocalist Carlo van Putten. It started in 1995 when Adrian Borland started working together with a singer Carlo van Putten. They released two albums before the sudden death of Adrian Borland on 26 April 1999. In 2006, Carlo van Putten invited his friend Rob Keijzer to join in and to carry on this project along with David Maria Gramse and Florian Bratmann, who also played on the first two albums. They recorded the album Bewitched & Bewildered with Marty Willson-Piper performing on the bonus tracks "Martha's Harbour" and "Circle". In 2008, a fourth album, Spiders in the Mind Web was recorded, mixed and produced by Frank Weyzig who joined the project on guitars.

Lately is the first extended play recorded by American band Ivy, released in May 1994 by Seed Records. Developed in the same year as the formation of the group, Lately is a French pop album with acoustic and general pop influences. Originally conceived by members Dominique Durand and Andy Chase, the pair recruited Adam Schlesinger for additional production and lyrics. Sessions took place in New York City and Paris, where they recorded four original tracks and a cover of Orange Juice's 1984 song "I Guess I'm Just a Little Too Sensitive".
