The men's skeet shooting competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics was held on August 21 and 22 at the Markópoulo Olympic Shooting Centre near Athens, Greece.
The Women's 100 metres Hurdles at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea had an entry list of 37 competitors, with five qualifying heats, three second-rounds (24) and two semifinals (16) before the final (8) took place on Friday September 30, 1988.
Matthew Alexander Dryke is an American former sport shooter. He competed and won a gold medal in the 1984 Summer Olympics. He is a two-time world champion in skeet shooting, from 1983 and 1986, and earned a silver medal in 1987.
Vincent Charles Hancock is an American shooter and Olympian who won the gold medal in the men's skeet at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, 2012 Summer Olympics in London and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He is the first skeet shooter to repeat as the Olympic champion.

Skeet was one of the thirteen shooting events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was the last Olympic skeet competition open to both men and women, and the only mixed shooting competition at the Olympics ever won by a woman: Zhang Shan. The competition consisted of a qualification round of 150 targets, a semifinal of 50 targets for the top 24 competitors, and a final of 25 targets for the top six. Hitting all 200 targets of the preliminary rounds, and 23 in the final, Zhang won ahead of four male shooters at 222. With José María Colorado eliminated due to lower final score, a three-way shoot-off between Juan Giha, Bruno Rossetti and Ioan Toman determined the silver and bronze medals, going to Giha and Rossetti respectively. The event was held on 28 July at the Mollet del Vallès Shooting Range.

Erich Buljung equalled the world record of 590 points in the qualification round, acquiring a two-point lead over the new 50 metre champion, Sorin Babii. Neither of them performed a good final however, and Tanyu Kiryakov eliminated his entire five-point gap to first place. The tie between Kiryakov and Buljung was resolved on grounds of higher final score, with Kiryakov becoming the inaugural champion. Xu Haifeng surpassed Babii to win bronze.

Tomoko Hasegawa and Jasna Šekarić finished on the same score, four points behind Salukvadze, and Hasegawa won the silver medal due to higher score in the two-series final.

Jasna Šekarić was still able to enter the final only one point behind, and won it to become the first Olympic air pistol champion. Lieselotte Breker, third in the qualification round with 386, started out the final with a 0.0 and was then never in contention for the medals; Marina Dobrantcheva won the bronze medal.

Hendrikus "Hennie" Dompeling is a Dutch sport shooter. He has competed for the Netherlands in skeet shooting at five Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal in 2000. Outside the Olympic career, Dompeling has produced a phenomenal record of twenty-one medals in a major international competition: two bronze at the World Championships, a total of four at the ISSF World Cup final, a total of nine at numerous ISSF World Cup meets, and a total of six under both junior and senior category at the European Championships.
