Women's 50 metre rifle three positions (then known as standard rifle) was one of the thirteen shooting events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was the first Olympic competition after the introduction of the new target in 1989, and thus two Olympic records were set, both by Launi Meili. [1]

Shooting sports have been included at every Summer Olympic Games since the birth of the modern Olympic movement at the 1896 Summer Olympics except at the 1904 and 1928 games.

Rajmond Debevec is a Slovenian shooter. He has won three Olympic and ten World Championship medals in shooting. He formerly held the world record in the 50 meter rifle 3 positions event.

The shooting competitions at the 1992 Summer Olympics took place at a shooting range complex in Mollet del Vallès outside Barcelona, Spain. Competitions were held in a total of thirteen events — seven men's events, four women's events, and two events open to both genders. It was the first time a woman took a gold medal in such an open event, and also the last time they were held.

Kateřina Emmons Czech sport shooter

Kateřina Emmons, née Kůrková is a Czech sport shooter who won three Olympic medals. She competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal, and the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she won her first gold medal in the women's 10 metre air rifle competition, as well as a silver medal in the 50 metre rifle three positions event.

Hrachya Petikyan is an Armenian sports shooter and USSR, European, four-time World and Olympic Champion. Petikyan is a four-time Olympian who has represented three nations: the Soviet Union, the Unified Team and the Republic of Armenia. He has been awarded the Honored Master of Sport of the USSR title.

Éva Joó is a Hungarian sport shooter. She has competed for Hungary in rifle shooting at four Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal in 1996. Apart from her Olympic career, Joo has successfully produced a career tally of nineteen medals in a major international competition: a gold at the 1990 ISSF World Championships in Moscow, Soviet Union, a total of three at the ISSF World Cup final, a total of nine at various meets of the World Cup series, and a remainder of six under both junior and senior categories at the European Championships since her sporting debut in 1987.

Pushpamali Ramanayake is a Sri Lankan sport shooter. She has competed for Sri Lanka in rifle shooting at three Olympics, and has won a gold medal with fellow shooter Malini Wickramasinghe in the air rifle pairs at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

The women's 50 metre rifle three positions was a shooting sports event held as part of the Shooting at the 1984 Summer Olympics programme. It was the first time the event was held for women at the Olympics. The competition was held on August 2, 1984 at the shooting ranges in Los Angeles. 27 shooters from 17 nations competed.

Kazi Shahana Parveen is a Bangladeshi shooter who participated in the 1992 Summer Olympics in the Women's 10 metre air rifle event, 1994 Asian Games and 1998 Commonwealth Games. She was the first woman to represent Bangladesh at the Olympics.
