Short-track speed skating is a form of competitive ice speed skating. In competitions, multiple skaters skate on an oval ice track with a length of 111.111 metres (364.54 ft). The rink itself is 60 metres (196.85 ft) long by 30 metres (98.43 ft) wide, which is the same size as an Olympic-sized figure skating rink and an international-sized ice hockey rink. Related sports include long-track speed skating and inline speed skating.

Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu is a Canadian long track speed skater and short track speed skater. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Gélinas-Beaulieu currently resides in Quebec City. He is currently a member of the national long track team for Canada.
Elise Christie is a British former short track speed skater. She was coached by Nicky Gooch and she specialised in the 1000m event. She is ten times a European gold medallist, including two overall European titles in 2015 and 2016. In the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam she won world titles in the 1000m and 1500m events, along with the overall gold, marking her as the first British woman and first European woman to achieve such a feat.

The season began on 21 October 2021 in China and ended on 28 November 2021 in Netherlands. Four Continents Short Track Speed Skating Championships is an annual short-track speed-skating competition. It was established by the International Skating Union in 2019 to allow athletes from outside Europe to compete at the event. Its inaugural event was held in 2020, while its second and third editions were cancelled in 2021 and 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The second edition of the event was held from 10–12 November 2022 in Salt Lake City, United States of America. The 2025 edition, scheduled for November 2024, was cancelled due to track safety concerns.

The 2024–25 ISU Short Track World Tour is a multi-race series over a season of short track speed skating, organised by the International Skating Union (ISU), which organised also runs world cups and championships in speed skating and figure skating. It is the 1st edition of the ISU Short Track World Tour, and is planned to commence on 25 October 2024 and end on 16 February 2025.
